Hi! Your Brother may be a self-oiling machine, as are many of the new machines. Check your manual to be sure.

Happy Sewing!

Oil my machine

This really depends on the model of machine you have. Most new machines are self oiling, but some still require a drop of oil in the bobbin case. Your sewing machine manual should include a oiling diagram if your machine requires that the user oil their machine. You should be able to download a manual for your machine from the Janome website, even the retired models are there.

Singer no longer allows us to oil and grease. You won't find a diagram. Sorry. You'll need to take it in for Lube and adjust.

How do i get the top off to oil the sewing machine

http://www.singerco.com/uploads/download/1295_3270.pdf

The information you seek is in this PDF. 3343 and 3270 are apparently the same machine because singer cross references the instructions as interchangeable.

Remember to use good sewing machine oil and do not over oil your machine. Too much oil can do more harm than good. ;)

I WANTED TO KNOW HOW DO I OIL AN JANOME MACHINE, I HAVE AN MEMORY CRAFT MACHINE, SO I WANTED TO KNOW HOW TO OIL IT, I SERVICED IT THIS YEAR IN MARCH 2010, SO WHEN DO I NEED TO OIL IT? DO I NEED TO OIL IT...

I don't think you do! There are no instructions in the manual. A while ago my machine sounded funny so I took it in for a service that cost $100! I think Janome have deliberately omitted this information to force sewers into taking machines to recognised mechanics. My machine sounds rough again.

How to oil old featherweight

Hi! I love the old Singer sewing machines!! Do you have the user's manual for your machine? The manual has great diagrams showing where to put oil and grease. If you don't, check out http://www.221parts.com/

In the meantime, look for little holes, often with raised edges and put a drop of oil in each. Put a drop of oil wherever metal moves against metal. You'll need to oil inside the head, on the right-hand side where the motor is located (DON'T oil the motor--use grease instead), and also underneath.

Good luck and let me know how it goes.

Maintenance on Huskylock 910

Oiling instructions:
You never need a diagram to oil a sewing machine. Turn the hand wheel and look for every area that metal touches metal. 1-2 drops (more Is Not better) of oil everywhere metal rubs metal, use a flashlight and look and oil look and oil until every spot is oiled.

How do i oil this machine , please

You should not use WD40 on your machine. Use machine oil, you can p/u singer sewing machine oil really inexpensively. Also if you write Brother via the website they will email you a diagram of where to oil, I've found them very helpufl.

Oil

Most every machine has an oiling diagram in the instructions but if yours is gone then don't be afraid to take the covers loose and oil anywhere 2 moving metal parts come togeather but only a drop. Over-oiling will cause a heavy collection of lint and dirt possibly causing damage later on. Don't be afraid to remove the covers, just put them back on the way they came off. While your at it, give it a good vacuum, or blow and brush it out. Good luck.
