SOURCE: HP 6940 will not print

Turn the printer off
Open the back door and
gently turn the paper roller upward until it clicks. Make sure the door is securely closed. Wait a few more minutes then turn the print back on. I hope this helps.

SOURCE: Arrow light and Power light keep blinking

take out all the cartridges and the papers..
unplugg the power cable from the printer..
manually slide the carriage from left to right and vice versa and roll the rollers in upward direction from the back after opening the back door..
if doesnt slide or roll..press & hold the power button for 60 seconds and then try again..
clean the inner area of the cartridge slot and the copper contacts of the cartridge with a soft lint-free cloth..
close the back door...
dont put the cartridges..
connect the power cable and power on the printer...
Lights will blink..
Insert one cartridge in the respective slot and close the cartridge door and check if any light blinks..
then remove the cartridge and insert another one and check the same thing..
If light blinks..it will mean the respective cartridge is not good and replace it--

SOURCE: cant get the orange arrow button to stop blinking

I own two of these printers, and one had the blinky arrow problem. I fixed it by removing the color cartridge and letting the printer reset. Then it would print black. Putting the color cartridge back in made the arrow blink again. So I swapped in the color cartridge from the other printer, and the printer worked fine. Finally, I put the suspect color cartridge in the other printer and it's blinky arrow came on. So I replaced the suspect cartridge with a new one and all was fine. Interestingly, the suspect cartridge weighed more than the original one from the other printer, so I think it had plenty of ink. Something else must have gone bad in the cartridge.

HP deskjet 6940 has been installed. I see it in printers and it says ready but nothing will print to it. On the front of the printer there is a blinking orange arrow. What does that mean?

hello, have you tried pressing the orange button to see if machine will continue and pick up paper and print, also are there any other lights that come on, you might want to take paper out, and turn it around, and install back in. and try again. you might also want to change one ink cartridge at a time to see if that also might be the problem

Cant print. the tear like button is blinking

I have a 6940 color printer and I am assuming the 'tear' buttons are the same. If so, it is an out of toner indicator.

Dell Inspiron/HP 6940 stopped communicating

Have you removed the powe cable form the wall for 5 minutes?

Also check to see if another device has been installed or software recently that might have "overtaken" your printer.
