My dryer is very hot to the touch

It is most likely clogged with lint, pull the lint filter and clean down in the hole it slides in. remove the vent hose and clean out the dryer and make sure the access tube going out is not clogged, remove access panel and clean anything you can see inside the dryer. Be sure to unplug the dryer before you clean out the inside. it could possibly be your high limit thermostat but usually when it goes out it burns out the element pretty quick and you have no heat. Hope this helps

No heat in dryer

I have tips on dryers in my profile. I would clean all the exhaust vent tubing in this and try again to see if heat will work
A moister sensor detects any obstruction of lint in the vents and shuts the heat off until it is cleaned out
It is a fire hazard and all dryers made the past decade all have this option installed

Dryer isn't drying as well as normal.Lint filter is clean.Doesn't seem to work any different on timed dry or auto dry.I have electrical exp. but no dryer exp. What should i check and how do I access it?

i belive you should check the vent hose from the dryer all the way to where it exits the house... that's usually the problem when dryers aren't drying as well as they shoud... lint wil start to cake on the walls of the vent and either create a complete block or slow the air down enough to keep it from circulating like it should

My hotpoint dryer doesnt dry well. What do i must review?

Electric dryer? Try cleaning lint from the vent & inside the dryer - unplug it, remove the back, vacuum everything including inside the exhaust vent which you may be able to access better by removing a few screws. Poor airflow caused this problem with my dryer.

Kenmore 400 Series electric takes ver long time to dry.

Very common problem. You need to call a
duct cleaning company and tell them to clean
your dryer vent. Rule-of-thumb: dryer vents
should be cleaned every couple of years to
prevent them from being clogged with lint and
causing lint fires. This is definitely your problem. Good luck :)

p.s. one way to verify a clogged vent is
to go outside where the vent exits the house
and feel the air-flow. should have adequate air-flow.

Very Hot Top

It appears that your venting system is restrictive to a point that the hot air coming from the exhaust of the dryer cannot get outside due to excessive lint in the line. If possible, can you use a flex line and temporarily vent it out thru a window until your hard-piped vent dries out and can be cleaned properly? These dryers have thermal overloads to shut them down if they get too hot but since you mentioned the heat was near the top in the back.. I would make sure the power cord connections are tight.. ( do this by unplugging the dryer from the wall receptacle) the open the access cover were the cord enters the back of the drier.. then use a screwdriver and and make sure all 3 or 4 wire terminals are tight. A poor or loose contact there is resistive and may get hot enough to cause a fire. Make sure to remove or disable power BEFORE servicing this area.. Hope this helps..

Kenmore dryer

unplug unit/dicnnect power. 3 1/4in screws will remove lower panel, allowing access to remove lint(if excessive amount i would also have venting cleaned and or replaced.
