SOURCE: no bootup

I've seen systems that default to booting from the latest installed drive. I suspect that your BIOS has this set. Go into the setup and check. If it has this set, set it to the drive you want to boot to. This will probably keep happening if you like to boot the system without the drive connected unless their is a BIOS update.

Format with this tool.

http://en.kioskea.net/telecharger/download-127-hp-usb-disk-storage-format-tool

NB use server 2 for download. Server1 requires password.

This is probably a problem of system files on the USB key.

First of all, read the manual for the key, and verify that no utility provided with the key to reset or reformat. If such a utility is present, it is recommended that you used same before proceed to next step.

Otherwise, to reformat and therefore repair the USB key, you can use standard tools of Windows. Insert the key into the USB port of a PC, then go to:

Start / Control Panel / Administrative Tools / Computer Management / Storage / Disk Management /

Select the drive to the USB key in but ensure same is not a hard disk system!

Once the back up of your USB key effected, delete the existing partitions on the key (right click / delete the partition.). Format the key to FAT16 using all the available space (right-click / Format). For more than 2GB, it is recommended that you format same as FAT32.

If the available space is under the capacity of the key, this is surely a hardware problem, in which case it may be necessary to reduce the after-sales service.

It should be noted however that a difference of about 10% should not be considered, prior the way the manufacturer has recorded bytes. To be more appropriate, as a manufacturer considers that a Megabyte equals 1 million bytes or 1024 * 1024 bytes, a key of 512 MB can display 512 000 000 bytes or 488 481 250 bytes.

This is an very new model of addon card for which there is no driver in the Express Gate - which is just a stripped down Slackware Linux operating system - so the system ignores it and everything plugged into it. Since adding a Linux driver (which doesn't even exist at this moment according to the manufacturer) to an embedded OS like that is extremely difficult you should just connect your keyboard and mouse in another onboard USB socket - if necessary use a $5 hub which you can buy at Walmart.

I found the same problem with you and found the solution. Open your server casing and try to locate a battery attached to RAID memory. On my case the battery swollen and make the card bent. For the more detail i wrote on http://hubpages.com/hub/IBM-error-code-2807

One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect your hard drive
Test the leads that attach to your ((hard drive from the motherboard)) or replace all the leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions + IDE,SATA and the ones that attach from your ((motherboard to hard drive))
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty even the electrical extensions or just replace them they are probably old and faulty a computer needs its connections to have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error

hope this helps

Unable to find Mass Storage Controller Driver

The mass storage controller is generally for usb devices that you've plugged in. USB keys, memory cards etc.

This kinda falls under the realm of the USB drivers for your mainboard... which if they're working, you don't need to do anything. XP service pack 2 supports USB2 just fine, but service pack 1 will require you to get your manufacturers drivers to get USB2 working at full-speed.

Why do you want to change the default driver anyway??

How to connect a IDE-to-USB cable to a 2.5 inch drive?

1) You will do no harm by reversing the connector, but the PC won't "see" the drive at that point (if your drive has an activity LED it will be permanently ON if the cable is reversed) 2) Most times the USB will have enough power to drive the HD all by itself, but if you are going through a hub that may not be the case. In that situation, plug the device directly into a USB port on the PC.
