No power

my camra will once in a while turn on,it shows there is plenty of battery life but when I take a few pictures it automactily turns off,and then the camra wont turn back on. The batterys I use are nickel cadmium battery rechargeables.Why is this happing? and if it needs service repair how much is it.

I have the same problem.
