Shutting down incorrectly results in one problem after another.
press power key and when screen starts up press f 8 and start either from safe mode or last good configuration then shut down correctly and hopefully should resolve issue.

Do the following, let me know if it clears or not:
  1. Press the On button to turn the printer off.
  2. Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
  3. Remove all the ink cartridges.
  4. Wait two minutes.
  5. Plug the power cord into the back of the printer.
  6. Press the On button to turn the printer on.
Install the ink cartridges when prompted.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.

Shuts down by itself

If there are no speakers connected and you still get the protection message, there is a problem internally. Exchange the unit while you can. The typical parts required to fix this problem will be over $75 US.

Acerpower SV PC will Not turn off

More information would help to resolve this issue.

Are you shutting down by selecting Start and shutdown or have you tried pushing the power button on push (not holding the power button)?

Try this:
Press and hold the power button in solidly for about 10 seconds. If it shuts down before you get to 10 just let off the power button. This should work, but may not solve the problem.

If you reboot it and still can not shut down from Windows, hold power button until it shuts down, unplug the power cord and disconnect everything from the computer other than the keyboard, mouse and monitor. With the power plug still unplugged, hold the power button in for about 15 seconds (this resets the power supply and can clear a corrupt BIOS).

Reconnect power and after booting, see if you can shut down from Windows.

If still no go, click Start, Programs, Accessories, System tools and select System Restore.

Follow the prompts and select a bold date back to a time before you had problems shutting down. That should do the trick.

Let me know if you get it fixed or if you need more advice.

When you take the cover off and start up, are all of the fans spinning? If the CPU fan doesn't spin, the system will shut down soon after starting to prevent over heating the CPU
