SOURCE: door seal wont drain
I would suggest using a blunt object to clear the drainage holes in the rubber seal. I'd advise against removing the seal for this problem. LG has special pliers to remove the spring loaded wire from around the front of the door seal and another for the larger size one where the rubber seal attaches to the outer drum. The second one is much harder to reattach, even somewhat difficult with the washer's front off if you do not have the special pliers.

SOURCE: Retro-fit drain hose
hi not seen one of these retro types but having always wiped the seal and door after use as recommended with clean damp cloth prevents seal deteriation i would have thought this drain?on retro type that drains accumulation of any water from seal would be draining inside the outer drum and thro to drain into pump? seems odd?

I also had a door gasket tear that caused water to spit out all over the floor so I had to replace it. It's a fairly simple job in theory, you can even find LG repair manuals online. The front panel comes off easy and removing the spring and wire clamps from the gasket is fairly simple. Getting the gasket back on is a different story. Seating the gasket is a bit tricky but I found that some lubrication helped greatly. Don't use oil based lube though because it could soften the gasket. I opted for a water based lube in the form of KY jelly (***insert crude joke here***) The drum side wire clamp was a bit of a challenge. My model had a hook on one end of the wire so that it came apart when removed. I think this made it much easier. Some models don't have the hook so you would need a tool that could stretch the spring. Something like a reverse pliers. Even with the hook, it was tricky. I found that jamming something around the gasket to hold the wire in place was helpful. I ended up using some vice-grips and needle nose pliers and all the strength I had to get it hooked. In fact, to sum up, the secret is to get enough force to stretch the spring. Once you figure out how to do that it's easy.

I have same problem with my washer/dryer combo. It took me quite some time to figure out what is going on.Did all electrical checks ,everything was fine and worst thing it was intermittent thing ,it would do it 8 out of 10 times. Found cold water inlet valve assembly to be faulty (mechanical problem with middle valve) . Second time in 6 years ,other than that I'm very happy with that combo.Problem now is to get new valve, because it is not available anymore from LG, so I'm digging through internet to see if anybody has it somewhere. Good luck

SOURCE: the door gasket on my
I use nylon cable (zip) ties to clean them. (Not sharp, so no danger of poking holes in the gasket) You may want to run a washer cleaner through the machine occasionally, such as Affresh or Washer Magic, or one made by Tide or Clorox.
