Question about The Home Marketplace 70047 Waffle Maker

Open Question

1950's sunbeam wafflemaker

I have an old 1950's chrome covered waffle maker. I would like to know how to take out the waffle plates so that I may clean them. I pried and pried with a screwdriver and even hit the screwdriver with a hammer for more power, but no success.

Do you think the plates come out?

Thank you,
Kathleen

I would love to have a copy of the manual for a Sunbeam waffle iron W-2-A made from 1945-1955. All links I've found online won't open. Anyone with a link that works would be most appreciated.

That is really too old for the Internet. There is general advice, recipes and videos, plus one Sunbeam Waffle Maker, a newer model.

I lost the instructions for my sunbeam waffle maker, and I dont know how long Ihave to bake it.

Here is a direct link to the User's Manual for your appliance:

To view the Owner's Manual with Operating Instructions just use your mouse to click on the link, which is the underlined and highlighted text just above. This will open a new web browser page automatically for you and allow you to view the information at the website indicated and the contents of the Owner's Manual.

You may need ADOBE READER installed on your computer to read PDF documents.
You can download this free at WWW.ADOBE.COM if necessary.
Click on the DOWNLOAD ADOBE READER button on right side of the ADOBE home page when you get there, then follow the onscreen instructions to install the software on your computer.

See page 2 of the manual for detailed operating instructions. Basically they read as follows:

Preparing Waffles

1. Close Waffle Maker and plug into outlet. Use only voltage specified on bottom of Waffle Maker. The Power light (Red) and Ready light (Green) will come on.
Caution: Touch Waffle Maker only by handles during use or directly after use. Take care not to touch hot surfaces.

2. The Waffle Maker is ready for initial use when the Ready (green) light goes out (approximately 2-4 minutes).

3. Open Waffle Maker, pour approximately 3/4 cup waffle batter onto grids. For best results, pour batter around outer edge of waffle maker. Close cover. It is very typical to have a small amount of batter run over grid and down Waffle Maker. However, if an excessive amount of batter runs over, use less batter.

4. Close the Waffle Maker by lowering the upper plate onto the lower plate and secure with the safety latch. Do not open cover while steam is escaping. Most waffles bake in approximately 2-4 minutes, depending on personal taste. Waffles are generally done when the Ready light (green) goes out and when steam no longer escapes from sides and front of Waffle Maker.

5. When waffles are done, remove with a fork or wooden tongs. Note: Be careful you do not scratch the non-stick cooking surface.

6. Close cover and wait for Ready light to go out before preparing another batch of waffles. The next waffle may be baked in less time because the plate will store heat.

I hope that was helpful to you, good luck and take care.

Joe.

Waffles sticking to plate. Unit over 10 years old.

It probably needs to be carefully and thoroughly cleaned with a gently detergent to remove any build-up that is preventing the release of the waffles. If the teflon coating is damaged it will have to be replaced or revert to the use of a release spray when using the unit.

Goodmorning, I bought a sunbeam waffle maker at a garage sale. It looks pretty old. When I use it the batter sticks even though I put oil in the batter, and spray the griddle. Is there something I can...

Try preheating the griddle for 5 minutes, then spray a light coat of pam on the hot waffle iron plates, and then add the batter (standard batter should work) (I wouldn't add oil if it's not in the recipe). Good Luck to You with that....

I am looking for a replacement rubber foot for our waffle maker. It's the sunbeam 3 in one sandwich grill and waffle maker. It's the little black rubber foot that keeps it from wobbling. Any ideas...

Waring Wafflemaker power light comes on but won't heat up

My just over 1-year old WWM200SA did the same thing while I was cooking with it (used it about 5 times). I found a solution under the WWM200PC thread that the thermal fuse blew early. I tested mine and that's what happened. It is a cheap part, but I called Waring Customer service (800-269-6640) instead and they said to send it in for replacement.
