Question about Whirlpool Duet GHW9150P Front Load Washer

1 Answer

Washer will wash for much longer than the cycle states it is supposed to wash. For example, on the 18 minutes, quick wash cycle, it may take 1 hour to complete the wash.

Plus, the whole house shakes when it is washing and spinning. The washer is level. I also get error codes and have had a repairman out to fix. I am now getting a SUD error now. I turn the washer off and wash on a quick wash cycle and it will complete in an hour. But if I try to wash on a normal wash cycle, I get errors?

most washers on a full wash cycle take about 60 minutes. It will take longer if you use a soak cycle with extra minutes because if you have a soak cycle and you set it for 30 minutes the total wash time will be around 1 hour and 30 minutes.

I just moved into a furnished apartment with a Hoover washer. Please could you explain how to operate it. I have used it twice, but both times it took at least 3 hours to complete the washing.

this is probably because most front load washer heat the water. check if you can adjust temperature or turn off,or check if the washer has a quick cycle for example quick 30 minute cycle.good luck keep me informed

E10

Are you using HE or high efficiency detergent? E10 code can also indicate over sudsing caused by standard detergents. Also, standard detergents, due to over sudsing can cause long washing cycles as well. This sounds like your problem.

Washer has timing issue, says it will wash for 45 minutes and wash for 1 hour and 15 minutes. The cycle says 50 minutes but it ends up taking 75 minutes.

This is really not uncommon. The more and more sophistocated the machines become, the more small decisions they make on their own. I have seen a one hour load take up to 2.5 hours.

If a load is off balanced, it will change the time. If the spin cycle doesn't spin enough water out, it will increase the time, and may still be too wet. (In that case you need to clean out the lint/drain trap.)

If you really want more control and quicker washes, there will be a setting like "Quick wash " or "Fast wash." Theis setting is quite basic and does exactly what you tell it to do, and you can always add and extra rinse, or higher speed cycles.

Kenmores and GEs are the highest reported rate of longer times. Relax. The more you add, ie, delicate, two rinses, light spin, medium dry, the longer it will take. It's just trying to do its job! :)
