Question about Nintendo DS Lite Console

1 Answer

"Power" button not working

My son dropped his Nintendo DS Lite yesterday afternoon. Since then, the power button on the side does not work. You should be able to slide it up to turn the system on. It still slides but nothing happens. It is fully charged. Is this repairable?

I think it can be fixed but by an expert not by sombody at home, if you need experts in that area you can look for them in fixya
http://www.fixya.com/ServiceCategories.aspx

I think it's a wire problem and shouldn't be to hard to fix it also should be cheap.

My son's ds lite is melted from a short??? won't work at all

perhaps should be a problem with the Ds power supply with overvolt...try to change and test it with another Ds power supply... You said that the ds system is melted...If I were you I would open the Ds to search for damaged parts and try to restore it...or you can buy parts on ebay:

Nintendo DS Lite won't come on

@JoepIt, you have a defective LCD screen. Could be upper of lower (I thing for 99% the upper).

@pietras1422, on the mainboard next to the power-switch, there is a resistor. If could be loose or is missing completely. Problem will occur when the DS Lite is dropped to the ground

Ds lite

Components may have come loose on the board, or damaged solder joints. Water damage can sometimes only appear after water has had time to seep, unless knock helped throw some residual water around inside, onto things it shouldn't touch.
