Question about Refrigerators

1 Answer

The motor (I think it's the motor and was also told by a technician, who declined to fix due to bad knees) is making a lot of unnatural noises. After weeks of a "popping" type sound, the fridge started making the sound of "a stick in a fan" - very loud. I would unplug and then re plug and the sound would stop. Then the noise came back and would not stop when unplugged, then stopped after 2 days and now squeaks constantly. The fridge is a Whirlpool Gold Model# GS5SHAXNLOO. It was manufactured June 2005.

I have a 30 Electrolux induction range and it started making a lot of noise when I use it. Seems to function ok but I think the fan is making the notice. What do you recommend I do?

Thank you for your post, Mike!

I see based off the information you have provided that your Electrolux range is making a lot of noise. It sounds like you could be experiencing an issue with your fan or motor. Since it could be anyone of these underlying issues with your range I would suggest seeking help from a professional technician for proper repairs. I hope this information is helpful to some degree. -Matt

How to fix frigidaire ice maker making a knocking noise?

I appreciate your post, friend!
Based off what you have described your Frigidaire refrigerator's icemaker is making knocking noise. This could be due to your water valve or motor. Since it is difficult to pinpoint the cause of the knocking noise I would suggest having a professional technician out to perform an accurate diagnosis. This will help you avoid any unnecessary part purchases. Good luck. -Matt

Recently we.had to have the motor replaced on our 3 year old Navien Combi boiler/tankless water heater because it made a squealing noise periodically. The technician who worked on it told us to let him...

This could actually be a manufacturer issue with the brand of pump. Based on your description it is unclear if this is a circulator pump, fuel pump, zone valve motor or other motor on your appliance. As a 30 plus year technician of heating appliance I have seen many parts factory defective, especially when purchased at the same supply house. Inventory is typically shipped to supply houses with manufactured parts from the same factory lot numbers, and when this happens, the technician keeps replacing a part with parts from the same bad lot!

Also, not knowing the true details of this situation, the installation set up, piping sizes, component brands, what means of air venting system was used in the hydronic side of this system, if any? With that said giving you a more specific answer is really impossible, based on the little knowledge I have to go on to help you out.

My recommendation would be to contact another company and have them come out to look at the problem, if you find the previous company charged you for parts that were not needed or the system was installed incorrectly, contact your local plumbing inspector for what to do in your area.

There is a noise coming from the front engine where the ventilator is. It sounds like a diesel car, and the noise increase when the RPM increses. My Isuzu Ascender 2004 has only 60000 mi. I'm wondering if...

I recently purchased a 2004 Ascender with the 4.2l in-line six cylinder motor, and under the 60 day warranty, the fan clutch and water pump had to be replaced. The mechanic told me that the fan clutch wears out causing an out-of-balance condition which puts extra strain on the water pump, which was leaking. Another issue may be that the timing chain needs to be looked at, because the tension wheel/gear for the chain wears out, making the timing chain sloppy. Then the chain flops around inside the housing, making a similar noise to the one you describe. Have your mechanic/technician check it out.

I can push the buttons and it sounds like it engages but it doesn't. It makes some clicking noises but just never engages into 4 high or 4 low. The truck only has 97,000 miles and the four wheel drive is...

Do not try to engage it any more there is an electric motor either on or in the transfer case that engages 4 wheel it may be bad. Any time you have a vehicle with options that you do not use use them every once in a while, once a month or so. Where yours was seldom used the switch in the motor is probably stuck in an unnatural position.

My dishwasher is making a lot of noise...sounds like its coming from the motor, It is 5 years old, does the motor go bad on these? If so, are they cheaper to buy a new motor

Depends on the motor's priceHowever I would suggest that you replace the entire unit due to cost of repairman and motor itself. Good Luck hope this helped
