Your thermal fuse near the dryer vent opening or blower housing inside the unit, this is a one-shot fuse when it burns out you can't reset it,you need to replace it,then the radiant sensor(senses the flame),high-limit and cycling thermostats located on the burner tube on the dryer, then the boost and secondary gas valve coils located on the units gas valve body near the gas inlet to the burner tube

when was the last time you cleaned out the dryer and vent line?if the dryer can't move the air the heat will stay in th dryer and the heat won't run for long because the dryer is hot and up to temp.you should clean out the lint filter duct, the cabinet where the motor is and if the vent line is long remove it from the back of dryer and blow it out with a leaf blower.i've seen dryers catch fire if they haven't been cleaned out.this is the prblem most of the time, people start changing parts and all it is is lint blocking the vent line or the duct that the lint filter slides into is blocked with lint.start here and see what happens

My Neptune propane dryer - model # mdg9700aww - is not heating. Have changed the valves. Any suggestions?

No gas dryer will allow the burners to stay on if the vent is clogged. Check your vent outlet while the dryer is running and you should feel a strong flow of air. Watch out for maybe a hornet's nest this time of year. If your model has a lint screen on the top (which I assume you keep clean), pull it out while it's running. If air is blowing out of the hole your vent is clogged. Since you say you changed the gas valves I assume you have some tech capability. Make sure you put them in the right places, they are different. Anyway, no gas dryer will run with a clogged vent. Check that and let me know. Good luck.

My dryer runs but no heat.maytag neptune gas dryer.

Hi there,

Well if your dryer tumbles, but there is no heat then you may please check out the following -
1. First of all you can check out for proper air flow - Check the vent for proper air flow by placing your hand over the exterior vent while the dryer is running. You should feel a strong flow of air. If not then check the lint trap. It is located either on top of the dryer or possibly just inside the door. Remove any lint that has built up in the lint trap. Cleaning the lint trap should be done regularly, even as often as after every load. Do not operate the dryer without a lint trap in place.
2. Secondly you can check out the Ignitor - gas dryer blows air through a burner assembly to heat the air. The burner assembly consists essentially of a gas valve, ignitor and a flame sensor. If any part of the burner assembly malfunctions, the result will be low or no heat and slow drying of the clothes. Post comments for further help or information.....
Good Luck!!

Why is my maytag dryer running for a long time but not getting my clothes dry, and the vent pipe its clean?

I note the vent is clean.... Now start checking for heat from that vent with the dryer on. You did not mention the model number so we at FixYa do not know if this is a gas or electric dryer. If it is electric cycle the circuit breaker to off (PUSH hard to OFF) then back on. There is a chance that only 1 breaker is connected. It would run and not heat.

Also the airflow out the back of the dryer should gently push a relaxed hand / wrist away from the vent outlet. If it does not do this you have an airflow problem. Look inside the dryer vent outlet for any signs of lint build up. You can have a clean vent but a blocked dryer vent inside the dryer. Go outside the house and check the thru the wall vent hood and flapper for lint buildup. This is a VERY common airflow restriction point. check BOTH sides of the metal flapper for lint. Lastly if after all of this you still have airflow problems the blower wheel hub can be broken or lint on the blower wheel.

Pull the lint filter and wash the filter with vinegar and water then soap and water. Fabric sheet particulate can cause restricted airflow. Also take a flashlight and look hard around the lint filter area for lint build up. Use a folded metal coat hanger to assist in lint removal along with a vacuum and crevice tool.

If you do not have heat... at all... after all of this; please respond with a model number so we can sort out where to go next in troubleshooting.

Thanks for choosing FiXya.

Dryer produces heat, but clothes don't dry

Sounds like the vent has a lint build up inside of it. A moister sensor detects any lint build up and keeps the heat in check. The dryer will produce very little heat this was. Clean the entire venting tubing and it shall run better for you

Have a Maytag gas dryer, model#:LDG7314AAE, flame wont stay lit.

Clean/repair your dryer vent. The flame when it exits the funnel should not touch or just barely touch the funnel end. This indicates good airflow. A good test for the clogged/damaged vent is to disconnect the vent hose from the dryer and run it as is. If the flame stays - clean vent. If not - clean air path inside the dryer

Maytag Neptune MDG7500AWQ Gas Dryer used to take same time as washer to dry a load, now it takes hours.....what's up?

One of two things, gas valve coils and improper airflow are the most likely to be your problem. The solutions are discussed below and the Service Manual for a similar model is posted at the bottom.

It's likely one of the coils is opening a break in the coil as the coil heats up. This coil will shrink when cool and be able to run again. Replace All coils in kit number 279834. Take care not to touch or hit the ignitor or you will be replacing it also. It is VERY brittle.

Disconnect power and turn off gas before working on this dryer. Working on gas dryers is not recommended for people who are not professionals.

For air flow issues:

This is likely the result of an air flow problem if you are sure the gas system is working properly. Ensure you are not running the dryer in a closed room which would starve the dryer of air dramatically reducing the air over the clothes even if the full length of your vent is brand new. Next, remove the vent hose from the rear of the dryer and check for strong air flow at the outlet. If it seems strong enough then run a vent through a window or out into another room and do one load in this fashion. If this resolves your problem the blockage exists in the vent line outside your dryer and disassembling dryer becomes unnecessary.

If not, ensure you have seen and touched every inch of interior dryer piping and hold the lint filter up to the light to be sure you can see through it. Disassemble and clean ANY section of piping you can't get your hand into. The area below the lint filter tends to catch a lot of lint . Ensure the blower wheel turns when the motor turns. (Newer models may have the filter housing at the front)

Having performed all these actions will likely resolve the problem. Good Luck
