Just got home. Roof leaked. Water in back of TV. Won't turn on. Is it "most likely" fried? This TV is a 1999 Sony "KV-27XBR45?" Came with the rental house I have. Is it worth me trying to take the back case apart and going in with a blow dryer?

Here a website to get the original remotes.1-800-Remotes Factory original. To buy exact remotes or very close to the original. No other way,tv control on the front of the tv don't have functions to work for PIP.
If you open up the back and locate hte fluback transformer (part with large red wire coming out of the top), you should see two controls on that tramsformer. One is the screen control which will control the overall brightness of the picture and the other (bottom I think) is a focus control. It may be marked on the transformer itself as well. Turn that control slightly while watching the set. This should resolve the problem.
Your power supply is going south, I have an old sony with the same problem. The voltage level drops and does not have enough 'kick' to start. It will work better when it is warm. The module will need to be replaced.
Sounds more like bad blue gun in CRT. A tv shop with a
good quality pix tube checker / rejuvenator may give some
temporary help......................T.
You have connected the speakers to the audio line out sockets. These are meant for connection to an amplifier and are not suitable for what you are attempting.
If there are no connections on the back of the TV specifically for loudspeakers then you will need to add an amplifier or Home cinema reciever.
If you have the original remote for this TV on the pip menu (left side slider on remote all the way up) there is a pip off button. If you unplug the unit long enough it should go back to normal. If you go into demo mode and then exit mode you will again be out of the pip. With out the original remote you cannot easily turn pip off.
