Question about Frigidaire GLEQ2152ES Electric Dryer

1 Answer

No heat, but dryer runs

The dryer runs (goes around) but there is no heat. The lights at the far right (Drying, Cool Down, Press Saver, Clean Lint Filter, Contro) all flash after cycle is completed. Lint filter is clean and air (cool) exhausts through vent.

Good Morning Friend,

I understand that you are having trouble with your Frigidaire dryer, model# LEQ1442ES0, shutting itself off after about a minute. I see that the lights to the far right flash 6 times and then the start and cancel button flash 2 times. This also, only seems to occur when the weather is warm and humid. I suggest putting a dehumidifier near your dryer during the warmer months to see if this helps to draw the humidity away from the dryer. The humidity can cause your appliance to not run as it should. The other suggestion I have, would be to reset your dryer. You will do this by either unplugging it or shutting the power off at your home's circuit breaker for 3-5 minutes. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your refrigerator status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

Dryers do what they are designed to do, Dry things. In the process everything inside the drying cylinder makes dust and airborne particulates called Lint. The Biggest bane for dryers is Lint accumulation. Clean the Lint filter screen. If it detaches from the dryer housing with screws remove them. Clean out what you see if you have a wet vacuum with a small hose carefully push this down into the opening and vacuum it ou. Another thing pull your dryer out from the wall disconnect the power and remove the vent hose. Vacuum inside the opening in the back of the dryer. You would be surprised how much lint accummulates here. Lastly check your vent hose for lint accumulation or blockage. If you find it blocked, disconnect the hose from the vent going outside and clean it all out with a vacuum . Put it all back together and run a load of clothes if you dont see a marked improvement in circulation and drying time, then either the blower fan is n't working properly or you have a burned out thermostat. If you have heat flowing turn it up to max heat and see how hot it really gets if on opening the dryer you feel extreme heat then it is either working right or the thermostat is not shutting off at the high limit. the Thermostat is a piece of Bimetallic metal that is extremely sensitive to certain temperatures. When they reach the preset heat limit they shut off allowing the heating elements not to burn out. A good investment is to keep dryer maintenance at regular intervals. They sell dryer cleaning brushes and Vacuum hose attachments for getting into the deep crevasses and nether regions of your dryer. Good luck and happy drying

Problems with frigidaire affinity dryer model gle02152es1.

Hello ljdixon226 - From what you have described the unit could possibly have a communication problem with the control panel. However, if the unit is not producing any heat please have a professional diagnose the heating element and the blower assembly as well. Either, or, could be faulty at this time. This is not a typical DIY job so please consult a professional.

Hello,
A very typical problem with GAS dryers is the soloniod coils that open the gas valve . When the coils are cool they operate just fine, but once the dryer gets warm from running the coils dont open the gas valve wwhen they are warm. If that is what your experiencing, the dryer heats when its cool but doesn't heat when it's been running for a while, the coils on the gas valve will need to be replaced.

My dryer doesn't seem to be drying my clothes. I have to run the cycle 2x for clothes to dry and the lint is cleaned out

Lots of the time lint still gets by and starts to block further down into the ductwork and around the fan.
Unplug dryer from the wall
Pull dryer out and remove hose from the back
Inspect inside with light you can put your arm up to to feel around
Look for the odd sock, clumping of lint or bounce sheets
If dryer is not even warm when running the heat elemnt or thermostat may be faulty

My dryer when to begin to work stop and show E68 the dryer is gallery series thanks for help me

Sorry to read about your problem. this should be your E68 problem

You have a defective button on the control board.
The best thing to do is go into the diagnostic mode.
Turn the dial to Normal. Press and hold the Select and Pause/Cancel keys for 6 seconds, or until the Drying/Cool Down/Press Saver/Clean Lint Filter lights come on.
Then press the Start and Pause/Cancel Buttons 4 seconds. This puts you into the diagnostic mode to check the keys. Now, turn the dial 4 O'clock position, or 75. This will allow you to check all your buttons. As you press each key, it will light all the lights above it. When you press a key and it does nothing or the lights above any certain key stays on without pushing it, this button is stuck. If you can't clear it, you probably have to replace the control board.

I tried to help you. Please help me and Vote/Rate this response. Thanks and good luck

sounds like a restriction in the venting process, i would first disconnect the vent tube and run the dryer, if that clears the problem then I would clean out the vent tube. If not then I would take apart dryer and clean out all of the lint. Hope this helps Tim

Would lint below the lint trap cause the dryer not to be drying properly

hello, The simple answer is yes, a lint blockage anywhere in the exaust line would cause the clothes to take longer to dry, You should check the exaust from the drum right to where it blows to the outside of your house. If you dont find a blockage another common problem would be the safety valve coils. Basically they get old and over time of heating then cooling develop a short when they heat up...It may appear the gas lights to start but then goes out until the safety valve coils cool back down. Here is a picture of the coils 57d5263.jpgThis The coils are mounted to the gas safety valve, This should solve your problem. Hope this helps, Please feel free to comment again if you have any further questions or concerns. Good Luck! Mike
