Question about Televison & Video
There are different causes as to why your system will not work, The most common failure in DVD/CD players is the spindle motor, If the motor does not spin at the right speed then the pickup lens or laser as its called will not be able to read the TOC(Table of contents). This motor has to spin at a predetermined speed and send its rmp back to the system control for the unit to work. You should consider replacing the Mech assembly as its called it will include the spindle/Stepper motor and gears and the new laser.
