I put a brand new dvd in (Avatar, but not blue ray just the regular one) and my laptop won't recognize it but keeps making noises every few minutes like its skipping. I have been trying to eject it by pressing the eject button on the keyboard but it doesn't work. Thanks!!!!
There is a small hole on the side of the dvd drive. push a metal paper clip in untill you feel pressure.( should only need to go in half inch ) when feel pressure push a little harder drive will open. hope this helps

Hello
Just switch OFF the set by its front panel power control switch, and then switch it On and press the eject button without any delay. Sometimes the tray will eject, and try to close. If so switch OFF the front panel power switch, while it is out, and take away the blu-ray disc. the switch it On. All will be ok then.
The dvd is probably defective, it requires more precision to play the blue ray disc, I would suggest you take the Laptop back where you bought it from for exchange or refund. New Laptops have a standard 1 year warranty in most cases.
There has been a change in the parameters of Blu Ray and your set will require a firmware upgrade to address this problem Contact the local distributor for details of when this firmaware will be available. It comnes on DVD or can be downloaded and burned to DVD You put it in and run it and its all automatic.
