Pull spark plug out. Pull cover from recoil starter. Pull recoil starter. Inspect flywheel mag's for cleanliness. Then turn engine over untill piston is topped out. Your manets and pick up should be lined up to eachother at this point. If they are not, pull nut and or bolts from flywheel and remove to check for damaged key-way or woodruff key that aligns flywheel to crank. That is the only timing.

Why wont my chainsaw start

First, pull a compression check, if you get under 115 lbs there is your problem. If the compression is good, use a 3-point spark tester to check the amount of spark. If good, you have fuel delivery issues. Check fuel lines, fuel filter and lastly the carburetor itself.

Will not idle husqvarna 240

Normally this is due to fuel supply, compression or air leak. You are going to need to perform some diagnostics to the saw. Start with compression, anything less than 115lbs will not allow the saw to idle. If the compression is good, check the fuel supply (filter and lines) Still nothing, have spark checked with 3-point spark tester.

Husky 272xp, getting spark from new plug, seated and backed off both low & high screw 1 1/2 turns, still wont crank. any advice?

To diagnose if its fuel related its best to remove the air filter and try to start with airo start. If no go and you know you have spark it's time for a compression test.

Have a husqvarna 125b have spark and fuel wont start done every thing i know new plug rebuilt carb gaped coil im tired of pull on it any answers please help it

the rule of thumb is spark, fuel, compression. I found I gad a plugged air filter. It would not start until I removed it and tried to start.

455 wont run

Make sure the muffler has not become plugged. Check the flywheel key as it may have sheared off for some reason causing the timing to be off, yet still generate sparks. Are the sparks blue and snappy? If not, check the ignition module gap to the flywheel magnets--use a thin business card for a gauge. A wide gap can cause weak spark. Hope this gets you running again!

No Spark - Husqvarna 125R Trimmer

Check the wire that goes to the "OFF" button. See if it is by chance loose or cracked allowing a short. Beyond that, it would probably be the coil, but I would lean towards some type of a short, especially if you know the plug is OK.

Describe your Husqvarna "Chain Saw -

Remove the spark plug and test for spark. If ok, try some starting fluid in the plug hole, install the plug, and try to start. If it runs a short time, it is not getting fuel. Check fuel lines including inside the tank. Clean or replace the air filter. If this saw is fairly old, the carburetor probably needs a re-kit and cleaning. Does it have good compression? Check the muffler for plugging. Make sure the fuel/oil mix is fresh. Good luck!
