After full capacity problem occurred, I broke the contract into 4 groups of 5 pgs and one last group of 6 pgs. The last grouping of just 6 sheets also reduced memory to 14% so that I got the same memory full error.

You could upgrade the memory or purchase the optional hard drive, but personally I would just attach a cheap Windows machine directly to the printer and use it as a makeshift print server by sharing it out in Windows. The print queue on the PC will hold your jobs in file when the RAM is filled, you could use an old computer running Windows XP so the cost is lower, and as long as you have a 10/100 card there won't be any lag.

In addition, printing to a shared printer does not require you to be an admin like printing to an IP, it's profile specific so users can set it up themselves, and you do not need to install any drivers on the local machine.

The memory issue is not necessarily going to change or resolve itself by simply breaking jobs into groups. But if you want a single job fix it might get you by. Keep in mind however that the format of the pages, whether or not they use graphics, and how many jobs are entering into the queue as the current jobs prints will all effect it too. There will not be a specific number of pages that always work.

You could check your driver and see if using the PS driver instead of the PCL driver or vice-versa, this does make a difference depending on whether the job is largely graphical or largely text.

If you believe that the memory issues are a fairly new occurrence, it is possible that the memory in your printer is bad. Most larger printers take standard memory like a computer or laptop would take. They usually have one or two bays. If it is a two bay printer and one bay is bad then the printer would have half the memory it thought it did and tend to over allocate jobs.

The software that came with your printer allows you to set the type of document you will create with the image you are scanning. It will also allow you to set the resolution that you will scan at. The settings may have defaulted to a type of output that uses a lot of memory, and also at to high of a resolution. Your manual should give you information on the types of documents that you can create and how much memory each type of document will use up. If you have already checked all of these settings and you are still having memory issues then the memory controller, or something inside the scanning mechanism is malfunctioning. You may have to get the printer serviced.

I looked into the problem and could not find a solution my only suggestion would be to cut the contract into separate files and print it partially to avoid using all the memory

hope this helps

How to clear scan data

Your machine will show 100% and that is correct. It doesn't mean memory full, but rather the amount of memory that is still available. Once you scan a document you will see the memory drop down to 99% or even lower depending on the size of the scan. If you don't see this happening than you are not scanning. Other than that your scan will either go to a folder on your PC or straight to your email. All you need to do is locate the folder it saves your scan in (usually created in your C: drive) or check your email folders including your Spam/Junk mail folders.

How to scan and send document

Place your document face down on the scanner bed. Press the button that starts the scanning process depending on your scanner or printer.

Save the scanned file to your computer by clicking "File" in the menu bar at the top of the screen, then choose "Save as." Choose the folder in which you wish to save the document from the drop-down menu in the window that popped up during the saving process. Choose a name for the document, then click "Save."

Sign on to your email account, then choose "New" or "Compose" to start a new email message. Click on "Attachments" or "Attach." Wait for a new window to pop up, then choose the file you scanned from the folder where you saved the document.

Wait a few seconds for the file to attach, compose your email message, then click "Send." Your scanned document will now be sent to the recipient's email address.

I HAVE A SHARP UX-A450 FAX MACHINE AND WANT TO EMPTY THE FAX MEMORY.

MEMORY IS FULL / SEE MANUAL (alternating messages)
The memory is full. You may have too many messages recorded in the answering machine. To erase messages, see below. This may occur during fax reception if too much data is received before the pages can be printed out. If faxes have been received to memory because printing is not possible (an additional message will indicate the problem), resolve the problem so that printing can continue (see Substitute Reception to Memory on page 66). If you are attempting to transmit from memory, see If the memory becomes full on page 57. If you are copying, see If MEMORY IS FULL appears on page 67.

Erasing received messages:
It is important to erase received messages after you listen to them to ensure
that the memory does not become full.
? Erasing all messages: To erase all messages, press FUNCTION, DELETE, and then START/MEMORY.
? Erasing a single message: To erase a single message, press DELETE while the message is being played.

If the memory becomes full while the document is being scanned, MEMORY
IS FULL and SEE MANUAL will alternately appear in the display.
? Press START / MEMORY if you want to transmit the pages which have been stored up to that point in memory. The remaining pages will be ejected from the feeder. After transmission, the memory will be cleared and you can transmit the remaining pages. You will also need to transmit the page which was being scanned when the memory filled up.
? Press STOP if you want to cancel the entire transmission.

Scanning several pages and saving as one document

Single scan printers can be difficult in this manner.\

Consider using the OCR (optical character recognition) software that came with your scanner.

Basically the part of the software that asks you what you are scanning (picture, document, newspaper) and make sure to select document. This will enable the character recognition which will convert the scanned picture into a document that you can configure to go into Microsoft Word or Notepad or whatever. If you have multiple pages, it MIGHT give you the option to scan more than one page at a sitting. then again, it may not. In which case you might be kicking yourself for not purchasing the scanner with the auto feed attachment! Once you have made your scanned document in your word processor - READ THROUGH IT! may have converted characters incorrectly - like an "S" may be now a "$" it happens - and it will happen. When done, attach complete document to email and BOOM done.

Either this or use a fax machine :)

hope i helped!

Fax Not working

Copying Documents If you make copies of multiple documents at a time, the number of pages the fax can scan into memory varies depending on the scanning resolutions as follows: * STANDARD and FINE result in the same resolution when making copies
* If MEMORY FULL appears on the LCD when making copies, reduce the number of documents to be copied or reduce the amount of total copies.
  1. Lift up the document tray.

  2. Insert the top of the document, face up, into the ADF (1) until a beep is heard.
  3. Adjust the document guide to the width of the document.

  4. Press <Resolution> to select the resolution.
You can select [STANDARD], [FINE] or [PHOTO].
  5. Press <Start/Copy>.
  6. Enter the number of copies (up to 99) using the numeric buttons.
To make a correction to the number of copies, press <Clear> and re-enter the number.
  7. Press <Start/Copy>.
To stop copying anytime, press <Stop>. If the document does not eject, press <Start/Copy> for a few seconds, then the fax will feed out the document.
  8. The new resolution will remain until it is changed.
