Either on the front panel of the television or use a universal remote that can be programmed for that feature. TRY going thur the menu and see if there is a format feature in there. Good luck. And let me know how it turns out. Cheers. Jay

Emerson TV cutting off top and bottom of display

Its picture settings should be adjusted. Now it is set to 'wide' format I assumes. If you want to get full screen, the display format should be chaged. Without a remote control, it is not possible.

The heads are cut off....I only have my dish remote, Is there a way to fix the format from that tv or a button on the tv itself it is a 52" or 60"

How did this start? you need the remote to change the settings in the first place, somebody used it to change the settings! Have you tried using the dish remote, did you change the format on dish? there is a place on the remote that changes the format from the sat signal also, should be a yellow bar below the live TV button. This is the way mine is set up but on other remotes there is still a button to change the format, look on the dish remote for this.

The inlaws pushed about every freaken button on the remote, now the picture on our tv is way too big ,and the heads and logs etc are no longer there help !!! please

This formatting issue can commonly be corrected by simply pressing the (*) button on your remote this button is also known as the format button and is located in the bottom left corner of the remote, which is also to the left of the zero button. You can change the formatting of the tv picture by pressing the star/format button until the format is corrected. I hope this helps!

How do i adjust picture format without a remote

If your projection TV has some hard buttons on it, then you should be able to get into the menus using the hard buttons, and that MAY allow you to change the picture format, but in all honesty it sounds like you'll want to find a remote for that TV in order to quickly change the format.

White flickering line across top of screen

Set the screen format using your TV's menu. Do not set the format of the screen using your provider's receiver. I had this prob with a few channels with a dish provider when I set the format with the remote from the dish provider. I picked up the TV's remote, went into the menu, set the format, problem fixed.

I lost my remote during a move and can't change formats on my tv

You are going to need an original Mitsubishi remote--I do not think in the main menu there is a way to do this without the remote: PART NUMBER FOR THIS REMOTE IS: 290P111010

Almost any Mitsubishi remote that has the FORMAT button on it will work.

If this has helped you rate this solution as I do this here for free.

I lost remote is there away to manually change tv black panels back to full screen like the aspect button without a remote? the tv is a hitachi 51f500

Unfortunately, most of these projection TV's require a remote. You CAN purchase an aftermarket remote. I would look for one that has all the features you need, PIP, screen format etc.... I have found that the Sony RM-VL600 works real well with my Mitsubishi TV... kids thrashed the remotes more than once...
This particular unit has system control PROGRAMABLE buttons on the bottom row. I've been able to program them for formatting the screen, setting audio and video... Solved my issue of needing a factory remote... KEN
