This is going to require service / repair at the shop, not something you will be able to correct.

Lens goes in and out four times then ask to turn power off and on

Option 1:

Try Initializing the Camera as follow; Initializing the Camera will reset the settings of the Camera to the factory settings including date and time. It will not delete any data saved in the Camera.

1. Touch the HOME and select the SETTINGS menu in the Camera.

2. Now, please select the MAIN settings menu.

3. Then select the INITIALIZE option under the MAIN Settings 1 menu.

Option 2:

If issue persists try Power reset the Camera by removing the battery from the Camera and inserting it after 1 minute.

Option 3:

If the issue still persists then Service may requires to resolve it.

Once powered on the lense goes in and out and to power off

I had the same problem, everything started after we took it to the beach and some sand got inside. After that it wouldn't zoom, but it was working. One day, the lens were going in and out (3 times) and then a sign would appear saying to turn off and on again the camera. I don't know it it was related to the sand grain, but what worked was to shake it and knock it (gently!!) with the hand. Not very orthodox, I know...

When i turn on my camera it says Turn the power off and on again

Hey, my camera the dsc- w80 did the same thing. When I turned it on, the lens opened 3-4 times and then it said "turn the power off and on again".
When the lens opened an closed, I pulled on it with my fingers and twisted it. I kept doing that: Turned the camera on and off, kept pulling and twisting the lens and now my camera works again!

It takes time to turn on

I hold the digital camera with the lens upward when I switch it on, and then the problem doesn''t occur and I can take pictures.
I hope that this workaround will also work for you.

Turning on the camera.

I had the same problem. I tried turning it off and hitting the camera on the palm of my hand but that didn't work. But, hitting it one time on the palm of my hand WHILE THE CAMERA WAS TURNING ON worked. I turned the camera on, it moved the lens out and I hit it one time on my hand and it works perfectly now.

Someone suggested it was a problem with the internal lens which makes sense. Also, be careful not to hit a sensitive part of the camera on your hand. I used one of the corners.
