The problem can be the inverter transformers or lamps assembly.
You can look for number as printed on the transformers and go to www.lcdparts.net to look for pinout and resistance reading. Checking for bad lamps will be more difficult unless you have spare test lamps.
One thing you will have to remember is that the cap can look OK but it can have high ESR, you will need cap tester that can do the test.

My samsung LE40R74BD set works fine for about 10 mins then screen goes blank (black) . It would appear there is no back lighting. I have visually checked the psu for blown capacitors but all seem to be...

This does not seem to be a power supply issue but rather an issue with the backlight inverter board. When the screen goes black, take a flash light and focus it on the screen from a close distance and several angles. See if you notice a very faint image. Try changing the channels to make it more noticeable. Try it and let me know

How do you know that your LCD is the real root cause of this issue? I suggest you try to use a KNOWN GOOD MOnitor/LCD to confirm it first.

Neovo F-417 contantly autoadjusting - help!!!!!

Check to see if the auto button is sticking (press it hard a few times, and wiggle it)

If it's not that then It's probably the power supply blinking out (monitor thinks it was shut off and back on)
If so, There's a good chance you have failing electrolytic capacitors either in the power section or the inverter section or both.
Any caps in these sections that look bulged at the top, or bulged/leaking at the bottom need to be replaced.

If you aren't tech savvy, this unit needs to go in for repair.

If you are handy with a soldering iron and can identify the power supply and inverter / FM section for the backlights, an inexpensive handful of capacitors will likely fix you right up.
Match the capacitance on the capacitors. Go over voltage if you can, and still have them fit.
IE - it's not a bad idea to replace a 10V cap with a 16V, but don't replace a 680uF cap with a 500uF or a 1000uF (unless you are positive it's only doing ripple filtering).

I have a Neovo !( inch monitor used as a security

First place to look will be for bad caps in the power supply/inverter section, post back what you see inside so we can guide you further, see example of failed monitors due to bad caps: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums

Tv goes blank while viewing

It seems that your unit has some sort of PSU fault, or a problem that is shutting down the Power Supply Unit, PSU. This happens so that no further damage, and possible fire will occur.

You need to take the unit to a reputable service centre/man and ask for a firm "Quote" for the work to be done. It is that re-starting that gives it away, this is a typical switchmode Power Supply problem.

Repalaced bad capaitor(bulge on top) Now powers up. snowy with sound and picture goes blank. With nothing on screen. Tried to use remote but nothing shows up on screen. Note the snow is from not being...

When the filter caps went bad, the power supply output will be AC and feeding the circuits which can damaged the parts on the board. Check to see if you have the 12 or 18v feeding the back light invereter board. There are surface mounted fuses on the inverter board also. Send me good pictures of the whole back where all the boards are and close up picture of the inverter board, may be I walk you through. budmrtn@aol.com

Display blank - green led on and goes to orange when no input - so psu probably ok - where do I start looking?

kilo2_tango2, You walked into this one!!! Let's cheer everybody up with a few laughs first. "where do I start looking??? Maybe in your pocket for lots of 10s & 20s. You will need them to do a swapout for a refurbished unit from SHARP, IF???? they even have a swapout program. "so psu probably ok" Well, maybe yes, maybe no. Is this psu a little black box that lays on floor, or are you refering to a internal to the monitor "switch-mode-power-supply" unit? By the way, you didn't even calculate for us the approximate number of "on" hours this unit has!! Ahh...Yes! You did type "display blank"!! I will assume that it is or was connected to a PC capable of displaying the WIN-desktop screen?? If such was the case, did you even do the "flashlight" test to see if the data made it to the screen? even if the CCFT's aren't lit up BRIGHT-WHITE on rear of LCD panel? Due to a INVERTER BOARD failure to supply 800-1200 v ac to light up the CCFT's. Well, k2t2 I hope some of this was helpful. Got to run now! I'm louie12fix on fixya or lmistyrel@aim get back to me if any of this made sense..

Neovo x17a monitor

Are the settings on the video output correct? Is there a green or orange light illuminated. There is a difference between the Power LED and the Signal LED which is green. If you have no signal the LED will remain orange or yellow but not green. If the LED is green, then a signal is getting from the PC but not necessarily good. Check the signal with another monitor or TV if you can. Check the cable.
