Question about HP Photosmart 2610 All-In-One InkJet Printer

I have a problem with my HP 2610 all-in-one is offline and I can not print

Hi Shock408,
You problem may be due to the fact that the printer is not connected to your computer properly.

Please follow the below steps to bring your printer live.
1. Make sure that you are having proper driver for your printer in CD/DVD/ Folder. If not then please use the below link to download the needed driver

2. Then goto control panel -> printers. There you can find all the printers installed in your system. Right click and delete all the printers with the name Hp 2610 (may vary)

3. Place the printer cd/DVD which came along your device.

3. Now power up your printer and connect the USB cable to your system. You should get some notifications like sound or some device visual notifications in your system. If not, please check the cable which you are using to connect your printer to system and replace it, If needed only.
4.you should be getting some new device found notification and you may be prompted to install the driver. After place the driver disc in your cd drive, select "Install drivers automatically" option in the driver installation wizard.
5. compatible drivers will be automatically searched onto the driver cd and it will be installed automatically. If prompted anything during installation just proceed with installation by giving needed confirmations. At last your printer should be installed properly.
6. Now goto control panel -> printers. There you can see the Ready status near to your printer icon. If still multiple printers are displayed there, right click on the printer whose status is displayed as "Ready" and select "Set as Default"

Thats all and now you are good to go.

Click Start
Click Control Panel
Click Printers
Click on the HP printer

Does it show as "offline" ? If so, click to go "online".

Look at the display on the printer. If it shows "offline", click to go "online".

If you still have a problem, go back to the Printer screen, and DELETE the printer.
Disconnect the USB cable from the printer.
Restart your computer.
Reconnect the USB cable, and Windows should "detect new hardware", and re-add your printer.

The printer is offline and it will not print anything.


If all else fails, unplug the printer, delete it and reinstall. Then set as default.

HP 2610 prints slow regardless of how it is set in the computer.


Check in your HP software settings - it will print faster if you set it up for draft. If it is set for "Best" it will print quite slow. Draft may be adequate. It depends on your needs.

Try cleaning the gold contacts on cart first, with distilled water. Let dry and try again.
If not, try this one
1.Try placing sheet of black text on copy board, and run many copies black only. I ran 25x12 times still no black. Run head clean after about each 50 sheets. Persevered and finally BLACK ink OK

2610 won't print


By self-test, I assume you are doing that manually on the printer. drivers downloaded/installed? right click on my computer, left click on properties, click on hardware, and then click on device manager. is there a yellow question mark by print drivers? If so, then need to load them from the internet or from your installation disk.
