How to install memory in a Gigabyte silent pipe motherboard

First, you must determine the applicable memory to your motherboard by reading the manual or it should be indicated in the box.

1600 (O.C.)/1333/1066/800 MHz FSB
4 x 1.8V DDR2 DIMM sockets supporting up to 8 GB of total system memory

With the above details, you can buy up to 4 memory modules, each with a maximum of 2GB. You can also choose your preferred FSB, 1333/1066/800MHz but you can tweak the system and choose the overclock module, 1600MHz. Remember to carefully install your memory module to the memory slot, the notch will give you an idea on how it'll perfectly fit. The left & right holder of the memory will produce a sound after you carefully install the memory modules thus, also indicating of a successful installation.

Hope this gives you a lot of help!

Hi, I need standard spec info of VGA built on Asus P5GC-MX 1333 whether 64 Mb or 128 Mb. Many thanks & regards, Richard

you can use up to a maximum of 224 mb of your computer's RAM for the onboard video chip to use. You can install a video card with any amount of memory (which would give you a lot better video performance).

Just bought the acer g5900.Memory DDR3 what i want to know is whats the MHZ 1066 or more.

MHZ is the speed of the RAM, this is very important to know because all RAM in a computer MUST be the same speed. In example that a 800 MHZ RAM cannot work together with a 1066 MHZ RAM, otherwise the computer will not boot.

I have a new MSI p45neo fs main board with E7400 cpu. Could you help me? What should I set the JB1 JB2 Jumpers at 200,200-266, 266-333, 333-400 mhz. The system has 4gb of ddr2@667 and a MSI n9400gt graphs...

You can set the jumpers to:

    JB2 - Pins 1 and 2
    JB1 - Pins 2 and 3

Your CPU has a FSB of 1066 MHz. (See )

The system uses a "4" multiplier, so the freq. for the above settings would be 800 - 1066 MHz.

You can overclock the CPU at your own risk using the other settings. I would not recommend it, but many do. Better safe than sorry.

    Purchasing RAM

DDR3 modules can transfer data at the effective clock rate of 800–1600 MHz using both rising and falling edges of a 400–800 MHz I/O clock. In comparison, DDR2's current range of effective data transfer rate is 400–800 MHz using a 200–400 MHz I/O clock, and DDR's range is 200–400 MHz based on a 100–200 MHz I/O clock.

decide urself, depends onur system support and ofcourse ur buying capacity.

    DDR3 is better
