Settings - E-mail

You'll need to complete all steps for this to work. Make sure that if you have to enter O2 in the settings you use the letter O and not a zero.

The following settings are if you use O2 Email as your ISP (Internet Service Provider).

If you require different settings eg Yahoo, Gmail etc please click here

1. Tap the Application tab on the bottom of the screen
2. Tap Email
3. Tap Next on the Welcome to Email setup screen
4. Tap on the Email address text box and enter your Email address then tap Done
5. Tap on the Password text box and enter your Password for your Email account then tap Done
6. Tap Next
7. Your phone will now try and download your setting to your phone and set up your account, if this can not be done you will see the message, Setup could not finish. Unable to open connection to server. Tap Edit details to continue.
8. Tap Manual setup
9. Tap the Username text box and enter your full Email address then tap Done
10. Tap POP3 account
11. Highlight POP3 server and tap the text box and enter mail.o2.co.uk
12. Check that Port is default set at 110
13. Highlight Next and tap
14. The phone will now check your settings
15. Tap the SMTP server text box and enter smtp.o2.co.uk
16. Highlight Next and tap
17. The phone will now check your settings
18. Tap Next on the Account options screen
19. You now have the options to add a name for your new account plus add your name to outgoing messages
20. Tap Done

Google GMail Settings
The Google GMail service offers email client access for retrieving and sending emails through your Gmail account. However, for security reasons, GMail uses POP3 over an SSL connection, so make sure your email client supports encrypted SSL connections.

Google Gmail Incoming Mail Server (POP3) - pop.gmail.com (SSL enabled, port 995)

Outgoing Mail Server - use the SMTP mail server address provided by your local ISP or smtp.gmail.com (SSL enabled, port 465)

the mail is needing two servers to work:
- pop server to get your mail, you can acces to it everywhere
- smtp server to send mail, you can only use it from your home wifi.

To send mail from evrywhere, you had to go on your provider website

The incoming mail server (pop3) is mail.yahoo.com
The outgoing mail server (smtp) you should get it from your internet provider.

Tried to take backup of messages was not able to copy the dbx files
- Rename folders.dbx
- Was able to send/receive messages without any error
May not able to retreive some messages in sent items, deleted items folder

Fill Outgoing mail (SMTP) Server: e.g. wmra.dataone.in/smra.dataone.in/nmra.dataone.in 8. Click on Next --> Fill - Account name: e.g. [email protected] 9. Un-tick Remember password --> Click on Next 10. Click on Finish --> Select the Account --> Click on Properties --> Click on Servers 11. Tick My Server requires authentication --> Click on Settings 12. Ensure that Use same settings as my incoming mail server is selected 13.  Click on OK --> Click on Apply --> Click on OK --> Click on Close 13.  Click on OK --> Click on Apply --> Click on OK --> Click on Close Back
  Configuring Netscape Messenger for Dataone: 1. Open Netscape Messenger --> Click on Edit --> Click on Preferences

Select Server Type as POP3 Server --> Fill - User Name: e.g. [email protected]

Click on OK --> Under Outgoing Mail Server Fill - Outgoing mail (SMTP) server: e.g. smra.dataone.in/wmra.dataone.in/nmra.dataone.in

Fill - Outgoing mail server user name: e.g. [email protected] --> Click on OK

Make sure you have GPRS activated.. call globe customer service first to get it activated...

try those.. if these will not work, try going to yahoo support online for assistance.. =)
