Yes goto your control panel, open Sytem and see Device Manager. If there is any icon with yellow color in the list, it means you have missing driver. If you have any missing driver that might be for your audio controller. If so then you have to install the driver for the device. Install the driver and enjoy.

Note: If you don't have driver then Ask Me for that with your sound card manufacturer name and model no.

Thanks
Iqbal

Music is playing - everything is turned on - fixit says there is no problem - sound card is active - speakers worked yesterday - now nothing, no sound is coming out of speakers

you might have hit by accident a windows mute key or a mute on your speakers themselves or maybe the wire that plugs into your speakers or computer got disconnected accidentaly.

try going in your Control Panel and check what u have in the Sound tab, it might give you some clues if the problem is inside the box.

you can also go into Control panel and Device manager and see also the sound Tab in there see if also your card shows up there...

if u have also an onboard sound card and also a pci sound card those can get into conflict if both are active at the same time.

good luck!

Speakers

Plug the speakers into your iPod. Any sound?
You may need to maximize the volume-control on the iPod *AND* on your speakers, but you should hear some sound, if the speakers are working.

Try a different set of speakers on your computer.

Make sure that you have not "muted" nor "minimized" the sound on your computer.

Make sure that the speakers are plugged-in to the "green" socket on your computer.

This sounds more like a sound card issue. Go to Control Panel, System, Device Manager and check your sound card.

The speakers get plugged into the audio output jack on the back of your computer.

Hello

Hi uptown109
happy Holidays
well, depending on what brand of sound card, (onboard sound) or external sound card, you have to prove if you get sound (green) connector with a headphones, then connect the green cord from speakers to the green connector on sound card, go to control panel then and test and up in the mixer all volumes, see if not mute .
good luck
