Make sure that the drivers are installed for the pad. Also check and make sure the pad is turned on in the BIOS. You also need to make sure you have the software installed that allows you to toggle between the two.

Toshiba touchpad doesnt respond after 2 minutes

This issue could be a few things. 1. Make sure your driver for the mouse and keyboard are updated. 2. The mouse pad may be going bad. 3. There may be an issue with the motherboard. I would recommend checking your driver first. Then replace the mouse pad. You can also pick up a wireless mouse and plug the usb that comes with it into a usb port if you are not comfortable tearing apart your laptop.

TOUCH PAD NOT WORKING

Hook a external mouse to the laptop, if okay! device driver issue or the pad has a break in the wiring that plugs into the motherboard. If external mouse has the same problem, try a system restore and bring the computer back to a earlier time before this started.

I am having problems with my pad and not being able to move the pointer on my laptop. Any suggestions?

Try plugging in an external USB mouse to determine whether or not you have a hardware or software issue. If an external mouse works, then you need to replace your mouse pad. If not, then you have a software issue with your mouse drivers..

If an external mouse does not fix the problem, then it may be an internal O/S or connection fault.

Mouse pad on dell inspiron 1501 not responding smoothly to my request. I am very disappointed with my two year old dell. Need help asap.

This is a common problem with laptop touch-pads.
You will have to use an external mouse. You can purchase a USB mouse which should solve your problem.
