keeping it updated dont mean you dont have one when your computer dont shut down there is a parasite program keeping it on you need to check it, anti virus protection only protects against known viruses not one that has not been detected yet, once one is found then a program is made to fight and delete it, not before
it sounds like your laptop is missing an audio driver. the easy way to try to fix this is by using windows update - a lot of times, device drivers will be included in these updates and will save you the trouble of finding them.
if that doesn't work, go to your manufacturer's web site and find your computer's model in the drivers and downloads section. then, find the audio driver listed for your model in the list and download and install it.
wow vista. after the service update some devices on some models would convert to the vista system. you need to go to devices, and properties and were you audio is click on drivers and revert back if available. if not, you will need to go to the manufactures web site and using your model down load the drivers for your model and keep the file. instal and it should fix your sound problem.
there is a simple sol to ur problem and even i faced it with my laptop as i have the same laptop. just go on properties of my computer and click hardware on top and then device manager then right click on the yallow missing audio driver and click on update driver this will automatically update ur driver from net
if u dont see the update driver button tthen ull have to install service pack 3 first
u can even download realtek AC97 driver and the update as that is more efficient
updating can take 20-30 min so u have to keep patience
u can update other drivers too like this hope u again listen to the audio from ur com
Step one go to your control panel and see if there is an audio device installed and the driver is there it may have been corrupted. if this is good then step two is to go to start, then right click computer, then left click properties, then left click hardware, then left click device manager, Locate the audio in the list of hardware then right click on it. A box will appear click on update driver and see if it will update, if not click on uninstall this device. Remove it. Go down the list and see if you have what is called the audio codec, If this is not there you can download the audio driver from acer and the codec from microsoft. If these solutions do not work it is going to need to be shipped to acer for repair, the sound card may have been damaged. One of the great things about acer is their customer service, Generally they will fix the problem for free just so they can keep up on their quality control. You may have to pay for shipping but it's worth it! Good luck..Be mucho blessed...Mark
