How do I set up my wireless router if I cant find the wizard disk?

Hi Michelle,

You will need to plug an Ethernet cable between one of the LAN ports on the router and a computer. Once you have done this, you should be able to login to the router interface if you know what the default IP of the router is ( is usually the default). Once logged in you should be able to configure this for use inside your home network.

Is this product compatable with vista? I have had this unit for about 6 years and has been in a closet. Changed my internet service and had this old router. It looks like I have it connected properly, but...

Routers are usually not OS dependable. Which means, yes it is. It is compatible. You need to go inside configuration and make sure your router is picking up IP address from your ISP. This is how to do it:

If you are connecting the router to a cable/DSL/satellite modem, please follow the steps below:
1. Place the router in an open and central location. Do not plug the power adapter into the router.
2. Turn the power off on your modem. If there is no on/off switch, then unplug the modem’s power adapter. Shut down
your computer.
3. Unplug the Ethernet cable (that connects your computer to your modem) from your computer and place it into the
WAN port on the router.
4. Plug an Ethernet cable into one of the four LAN ports on the router. Plug the other end into the Ethernet port on your
5. Turn on or plug in your modem. Wait for the modem to boot (about 30 seconds).
6. Plug the power adapter to the router and connect to an outlet or power strip. Wait about 30 seconds for the router
to boot.
7. Turn on your computer.
8. Verify the link lights on the router. The power light, WAN light, and the LAN light (the port that your computer is
plugged into) should be lit. If not, make sure your computer, modem, and router are powered on and verify the cable
connections are correct.

Now to configure router, do this:

To access the configuration utility, open a web-browser such as Internet Explorer and enter the IP address of the router ( (no parenthesis)
Enter the user name (admin) and your password. Leave the password blank by default.

You may run the setup wizard to quickly setup your router. Click Setup Wizard to launch the wizard.
Click Launch Internet Connection Setup Wizard to begin.

Click Next to continue.
Create a new password and then click Next to continue.
Select your time zone from the drop-down menu and then click Next to continue.
Select the type of Internet connection you use and then click Next to continue.

Your connection is probably Dynamic, meaning your ISP is giving you IP address automatically and it changes. So, choose dynamic, and leave host name, mac address and everything else blank. Save it.

That should do it. You can also proceed to setup your wireless. Make sure you secure it also.

If any questions, let me know!

Good luck!

Hi there... Iogear Bluetooth micro adapter 2.1 for USB port, software installed... After inserting the adapter, laptop freezes.

What is the operating system of your computer? Can you tell me the exact model number of your Bluetooth Adapter (it usually starts with GBU)?

Check the link below, and see the system requirements:

You need to check also the system type of your computer (32 or 64-bit OS). Some IOGEAR devices could only support 32-bit OS. If you are running 64-bit OS, that could cause the problem.

Try to uninstall the Bluetooth driver. Reboot the computer, then reload the installation disk that came with it. Once the hardware wizard ask you to plug the device it, just continue the installation, BUT DO NOT plug the device.

After the installation is done, reboot the computer again, the PLUG the device in WHILE the computer is shutting down. Once the computer comes back up, then it should install the other necessary driver. And that should work.

Good luck!

My router cant connect to the internet through the modem and i cant acces my rfouter setting cause cant install it

How to quickly install and use your Belkin wireless G router 1. Step 1
Position your Belkin wireless G router.

Place your wireless G router in a wide open and central location. Don't connect the power plug into the router, yet. Make sure your computer is turned off.

2. Step 2
Connect all the devices.

Find the Ethernet cable that connects your PC to the modem. Unplug the Ethernet cable from your PC and insert it into the wireless G router's WAN port. You should have an additional Ethernet cable that came with your router. Take this cable and plug one end into one of the LAN ports on the router. Then connect the other end to your PC's Ethernet port.

3. Step 3
Turn on your modem, router, and PC.

Plug the power plug adapter into the modem. Turn on the modem. It'll take approximately 30 seconds for the modem to boot up. Connect the power plug adapter to the router and the other end into a power strip or outlet. Like the modem, it'll take about 30 seconds for the router to boot. Turn on your PC.

4. Step 4
Verify lights are on for your devices.

Make sure the following lights are on for your router: power, WAN, and LAN light. If you don't see any of them lit, confirm these devices are turned on. Make sure the Ethernet cable connections are installed correctly.

5. Step 5
Install and configure software.

Use the setup wizard application to configure your Belkin wireless G router. Set up features, such as creating your password and setting up your time zone. Continue to follow the setup wizard so you can configure  other settings.

or folow the link you will get all your solution

Wireless adapter not found please plug-in the DWA-120

After uninstalling it completely from the computer. When you plug in the adapter alone. You must get the "Found New Hardware" wizard. And nothing else apart from this. Only then it is correct. If nothing comes up at all, the device is dead or your version of USB might USB 1.0 or USB 1.1 which at times has issues. But if you see that wizard coming up, unplug the adapter and insert CD and run setup and walk through it.

Anyway, i ll recommend that you try this adapter on other NEW computer(laptop or desktop), just to check.
I feel that this adapter would work on a new computer, maybe your computer's hardware specifications are old to support this device.

I had to re-install operating system, everything works except the wireless adapter

Hi there, no need to reinstall operating system. You may need to load the driver for the wireless adapter. Whta operating system is running on your computer? If XP, the adapter may use the built in driver for XP. you just need to plug it in and run the install wizard all the way out. Then locate the wireless network connection icon found in the tray near the clock. Right click and select view available wireless network. Select the wireless network you're trying to connect to. If using a pass key supply the correct pass key and once connected, you should be able to go online.

DWL-122 driver not installing, device not recognized

The wireless adapter will not show on the My Computer. Try to right click the My Computer icon go to properties, then go to Hardware tab then click the device manager button, click the + sign beside the Network Adapters category and check if you have the adapter listed there. If the adapter is listed check if the driver is installed properly by going to the properties of the card.

Wireless adapter

Well, try your best to not get super frustrated. Wireless is a pain in the rump witha huge learning curve. But, once you learn it, you're good to go!

I am not all that familiar with Belkin adapters, but I will assume there was a setup disk for it, and you ran it.

You also didn't mention your operating system - are you on WinXP? They have a network wizard that you can run to make sure you are getting all the settings you need to have on your computer.
All Programs
Wireless Network Setup Wizard

Do you have a router on your system? You'll probably need to have a router set up on your computer for her access to work right as well.

Try this link for a visual view of how your home network should look physically (shows how everything should connect to other pieces visually):
That will go to the Linksys site, and they have amazing tutorials.
Also, depending on what type of adapter you got, you can use either a wireless "B" or "G" network. Some adapters will do ONLY "B" networks, which is the WEP encryption. That is so much slower than the other type - "G" networks with WPA encryption. Many routers support both types, but wireless adapters are normally only good for one type of connection. If you have the "B" type, it will indeed be slower than you expected, and will also slow down your base (desktop) computer as well. (Sad to say, but it is true.) Be sure to change the main password for your adapter as well (and write it down!), so no one else can get "in" and divert your signal.

If you DO have a "G" adapter, be sure you have chosen a WPA-Personal for your encryption type, thatyou've named your network something you can remember. Run a network setup wizard on your sister's laptop as well, and make sure you are connected to the same network name that you set up.

For now, I'd really start with watching the tutorial on the link I gave you - it really helps to get a visual idea of what it SHOULD look like, and you can make sure everything is plugged in to the right pieces!

Post again with your operating system (WinXP?) and such, so help can be a little more specific. I just hope you can find what is wrong before you throw the adapter out the window! ; )
