Sounds to me like its a issue with the TV accidently being put on the wrong AV settings. Double check to make sure your on the right settings for instance av1 on your cables and av1 on the tv settings through the menu or remote control options. If that isnt the issue try it on another tv just to be sure it still isnt a tv component.

You can also double check to make sure nothing is lose or backwards getting one of the colors in the wrong position (we all have done it hehe).

Also try unplugging the wii, all together and unplug the power cord from the unit and from the wall leave it unplugged for 2min minimum and this will do a soft reset on the unit. Nintendo taught me that one hehe.

No component video with my Wii (component audio and HDMI video/audio both fine). It used to work fine, but now it won't show any picture regardless of which component IN I use. I checked all assigned...

Hello, I am sorry about your issue. Did you make any changes to the output resolution on the Wii. The output must be at 480i for the receiver to up-convert to HDMI. If there is a problem with the receiver I suggest a work around by connecting the component [red, blue, green] video outputs to the TV and the audio connections [red, white] to the receiver. Thank you, Onkyo USA

Cant use the remote

The remote has to be sync'd with the wii properly. If you sync it with another wii you have to sync it back.

Open the battery cover on the wii remote.
Open the front cover door in the middle front.

In each you will see a Red circle sync button in the remote and a rectangle button above the memory slot on the wii front.

Turn on wii, press the sync button on front of wii, then press sync button on remote, the remote should then get a signal and blue lights on front show player #. If not, turn off and try again. Once sync'd it will work with that Wii.

When i turn wii on, my tv says unknown signal

There is only two things i can think that can cause this. The first is that you have connected the Red, White, And Yellow. to the composite inputs (green, blue, and red) which will not work and will give that message. The second is that if the wii was working before and just stated showing this message is that it took an update (though a disk from another country) (can happen if this wii has a mod) and will turn the wii into like a canadian wii or japanse wii or something like that. I hope this helps you out.
Thanks
Steven.

Cannot connect the Wii to my wireless network

at the wii menu, go to the settings by clicking the circle with the word "wii" at the bottom left. press + or - until u see the word internet. click that, select an empty connection (1, 2, or 3), select wireless conection, then search for a connection. if the wii finds any connections, they will show up. click on the one you want to use, and if you need a password, put it in. if no connections show up, you are not within range of any, or your motom and/or wireless router are not working properly

Nintendo Wii works fine on standard tv but not on hdtv.

FOUND THE PROBLEM !!!!! The problem appears to be the Freeview somehow interfering with the Wii signal. When the aeriel lead is removed the Wii works fine, and the audio/visual signal is great. When the aeriel lead is in I have the problems. I hope this solution proves to be of use to anyone else having similar problems.

When you connect your wii to the tv the channel will be the avi channel, look on your remote is should have a button that says avi, just turn your wii on and keep pushing the avi button until the channel for your wii comes on.

Yamaha HTR 5760 Video Problem with Wii

You need to connect a composite cable from the receiver. The receiver does not carry a composite signal over component cables.

Connect Wii via wireless router

The modems wireless feature is always on. For some reason entering the security code wasn't working so I turned off the security feature and it worked fine. After the wii downloaded updates I turned on the security to the most secure settings and everything continued to work. I guess maybe the wii update fixed the issue or I just needed to change to the most secure setting.

Nintendo wii

Make sure that you have set it up properly if your using the Nintendo wi-fi you use that from the wii. Also make sure you have given permission from your Computer to allow your Wii to connect. It also could be as simple as a weak signal if so i suggest you move your wii untill you find the right place with the good signal
