26 HP, 48" cut electric start lawn tractor (craftsman). right lift link for the mower deck snapped off. Is there an easy way to get to it to replace it? I have the parts, just need the know how.

There is usually no easy way as the rope goes really tight, The best thing is to use an old bread knife with a wavy edge to cut it off. The hardest thing is getting to it, if you are up to removing the deck and turning it over, that is the best way.
The alternator is built into the starter. Check with a volt meter to see if you have at least +13v while mower engine is running. Could be a bad battery.
When you say nothing happens...is the PTO engaging? You said that you already checked the belts...if none of these are off...you maybe looking at a new PTO clutch.www.nnyparts.com
the bar connecting the wheels is bent. this is easy to change. just pull the pins out on both sides and lift the rod out. you can straighten it in a vise or order a new one through sears. cost about $12. our local repair shop keeps them on hand.
which belt do you need the primary or secondary i have part # for ya i can also order them 180808 & primary part # is 174368 let me know if i can further help thanks wade
you remove shield from engine remove belt, remove deck from mower and remove pulley guards and install belt replace guards , reinstall deck, put belt on engine pulley replace guard
