Our sink and garbage disposal was clogged up. We got the sink unclogged, but the dishwasher had dirty water in the bottom and won't drain.

Your dishwasher drains into the garbage disposal. It you tried to use a plunger to clear your clogged sink or run the disposal with to much junk in it you may have force debris into the dishwasher drain hose. With both the dishwasher and garbage disposal disconnect from power disconnect the dishwasher drain hose from the garbage disposal. This is usually about a one inch black hose. Clear out any debris in the hose and inlet nipple on the garbage disposal. If debris is compacted far down the hose it will need to be disconnected from the dishwasher end and remove to clear the blockage.

Good luck!

DIshwasher drain clogged Haier dishwasher model DW12-PFE2-E

Remove the drain hose from the sink drain assembly and force air into the hose--The clog should spit out into the washer cabinet. Make sure the drain hose doesn't have any kinks or sharp bends. Hope this helps.

Won't drain

If the water doesn't drain from your dishwasher, check these:
  1. Drain line/air gap A clog in this part is the usual reason that a dishwasher doesn't drain. Remove the drain line to clear any debris from the hose or hose connection at the household drain line connection. Reattach the hose before starting the dishwasher again.
  2. Pump You can reach the pump from inside the dishwasher. Remove the lower rack, spray arm and support. Look for an impeller, a device that spins around and forces water through the spray arm. This is the wash impeller and beneath it is the drain impeller that pushes the water into the drain port. Replace it if found defective or worn out.
  3. Drain valve/solenoid The drain valve may have a solenoid with lever that sticks or frozen and prevents the dishwasher from draining. Free up the solenoid and lubricate the lever.
  4. Belt A certain brand of dishwasher uses a belt to drive the pump. Replace it if broken or worn out.
  5. Motor Check it if turning or working.Turn the rotor manually to see if stuck and free it up. Replace if defective, it is not serviceable.

Dishwasher will not drain I have taken out the basket and cleaned it I have used a garden hose to force water through the SUMP INLET but it still won't drain by itself.

If it does not drain itself when you push Reset, then the drain pump is most likely bad. The whole unit will have to be pulled out to check or replace it.

MY DISHWASHER IS CLOGGED UP. HOW TO DRAIN?

You could try to remove the flexable hose that connects from the dishwasher to the drain pipe (remove drain pipe end) and try to force water into the dishwasher
