The fuel tank is part of the rear handle support body.
The fuel line to the carburetor goes into the top of the tank.
You will also find a return line from the air purge primer bulb. More than likely, one of these lines has broken or cracked. Gain access to some of the lines be removing the recoil assembly.
1) Remove the Air Filter and Filter Cover
(which you have already done)
2) Remove the recoil assembly to gain access to the primer lines.
there are three lines for fuel. 1 is from carb to tank with filter. 2 is from carb to tank just below gas cap on tank as a return line 3 is from tank to anywhere outside the tank for venting.
normally the line from the tank with the filter goes to the pump nipple of the carb, then the other nipple on carb by needle/seat side goes to suction side of primer, and the other one at primer goes to gas tank. what this does it pulls fuel through the carb when you prime it, and excess goes back into tank(return line) at primer, so when you prime it you should see fuel coming out through the line that goes to tank with out filter. good luck
Small gas line goes thru fuel tank and has the in-tank fuel filter on it and connects to the outlet on the BODY of the carburetor. The other larger line goes from the Purge?Primer bulb on top of the carburetor to the larger hole in the fuel tank and is only a fuel return line. The fuel filter holds the small line in the tank and a small nylon connector holds the larger line in the tank or it can just be pushed thru 1/2-3/4" or so and it will stay in place.
the little fuel filter goes in the line to the carb. make sure it will move all over in the tank so it can pick up gas. the other line is the return line it comes from the primer bulb. the primer bulb has 2 connection 1 to the carb. and 1 to the gas tank. it sucks fuel thu the carb. and back to the tank. if it has a crack or pin hole it might start but won't run.
Hi this is the way it should go: 1 from the filter in the tank to the bottom of the carby,2 from the top of the carby to the inlet on the primer,3 from the outlet on the primer back to the tank as this is the return line nothing goes onto it.
The longer, (and sometimes smaller of the two), fuel line goes from the carburetor to the tank with the fuel filter attached to the end, inside the gas tank. The other line, ( sometimes larger), goes from the primer bulb to just inside the gas tank, about a 1/2 -1 inch inside with coupling attached to the end. Coupling keeps line from pulling out of tank.
Yes, you are right. The larger line goes to the primer bulb and only goes into the tank about an inch. The coupling just keeps the line from pulling out of the tank. The smaller line goes to the carb. This line must rest comfortably on the bottom of the tank with the filter attached to the end.
The linefrom the tank with the filter goes to the mixture inlet on carb. The fuel return goes to the suction side of bulb. The bulb outlet line goes to the tank. Hopes this helps
