I can help you connect your Emerson EWR20V4 DVD recorder to your Sylvania LD200SL8.

Here is a picture that might make it easier:

I HAVE A EMERSON EWR20V4 - cfbdd48.jpg

Run RCA cables from the right and left (red and white) audio outputs of the DVD player to the right and left audio inputs of your TV. Then run an RCA cable from video out of the DVD player (yellow) to the video input on your TV.

I hope that helps.

You need to use the cable/picture for the Good Picture. Thus make sure you are connecting to the DVD/VCR output jacks. (These are the ones closest to the coax jacks). These should be the red/white/yellow jacks (AV). Only the DVD mode will work with the other two cable options.

The jacks should be the same on the TV. If the jacks do not match, you may need to get a converter. I do not know if an adapter cable exists.

I wish that I could help.

When I place a vcr in my machine all I get is a snowy picture. Why would this happen? The DVD player works but not the VCR

Make sure the tape you are trying to view has something recorded on it. Also insure that the tape you are trying to view is not recorded at a speed your DVD Recorder/VCR combo can not handle. If it is a pre recorded tape and it will play on another unit, then your VCR heads are dirty. Try using a VCR head cleaner. If that doesn't work the heads may need to be cleaned by hand or possibly may be bad, a trip to the repair shop would be call for then.

Dvd's will not play in color, all of a sudden.

There is a specific chip that processs color for the video output, if you are using the RCA connection or Svideo (Yellow or black cable) try the threaded tv cable. If that doesnt work it is probably not worth the $ to fix.

Connecting digital converter,Emerson VCR/DVD Combo,Sony SDTV

I think you may need an RF Modulator. This device will have connections for the DVD and TV and will have a channel 3/4 switch. Good luck to you.
