The card may have failed or become corrupted. You should try to read the card on a computer or card reader and see if you can retrieve your pictures. If you can good, if not they are likely gone. You may be able to get the card working again by formating it using the camera or a computer. Usually the card needs to be replaced.

Screen is black and memory card should not be full,

Hi,

the error could be due to several things - the card reader, pins bent, card getting hot or near magnetic source...
go ahead and re-format your card, even though u might risk never being able to retrieve your photos. This is better cuz if u send it for repair they will charge between $100-$150.
But I found a free recovery software called Zero Assumption Digital Recovery (http://www.z-a-recovery.com) which will able you to recover photos.

Goodluck,
Please don't forget to rate me as fixya..

Card error or camra on or of problem

If the camera was working properly while taking the pictures on this card then the problem lies with the card. Format the memory card, formatting the memory card cleans previously taken pictures and allows for new pictures to be made. Even if you are using a "new" card it needs to be formatted to the camera it's being used in. Your camera dates back to 2004 so a problem I recently ran into with my own camera was I needed to update the "firmware" when I tried to use a memory card larger then 2gig. If you have just purchase a new card and it is larger then what you have been using this might be the case as well. The card error message may also be caused by removing the memory card from the computer without "ejecting" or "safely remove" which shuts off the connection to the card then disconnect. Another reason is if the user constantly deletes pictures and doesn't format.
Hope this was helpful not not confusing.

Hi,
Your memory card is damaged. Please try to get back your pictures at camera shop. But usually, nothing can done on defective memory card. I suggest you to back your memory card files on your computer next time to prevent this problem.

My card won't work on my computer, what is wrong?

When you format the card, be sure to do it in the camera, as the camera firmware writes hidden files to the card.
When you insert the card into the card reader, be sure to set write-protect, so the contents cannot be corrupted.
I suspect what may have happened is that at some point there has been a conflict between files written to the card by the camera and the computer.

Viewfinder has focus lever at bottom, please adjust viewfinder internal focus as per your eye sight looking on-screen display. Every thing will be fine after that.

Previous solution is the FAIL. Original poster says it works fine in _camera_, but not in _printer_. _Printer_ is the compatibility issue, not camera.

If you are using External Memmory card, then take it out and format it using a PC & Card-Reader and then re-insert it and try. If it is not working still now, then try another memory card. If you are not using external data storage devices then try to 'Reset' your camera, if you have an option like that.
