Copyright protection is to prevent you from illegally stealing material and breaking the law.

If you Google for DVD copying software you will find lots of programs out there. Do remember though, copying DVDs and Video is illegal!

Cannot copy my copy protected vhs videos on my samsung dvd recorder dvd-SH893M!! how can this be done?

Buy a 'VICE 1000' hardware unit, which overrides copyright protection, both on DVD and VHS. Connect between player and hard-drive on DVD recorder.
Google suppliers. Thoroughly, and utterly illegal and carries heavy penalties, for breaches of copyright.

Does lg play .vob files (ripped) dvd's?

Actually, DVD purchased or rented from stores always have copyright protections. To put dvd to ur LG phone, you need to use dvd ripper to bypass the copyright protection and convert dvd to lg-friendly format 3GP/MP4 . I recommend that you use Daniusoft to rip the DVD's, it can bypass all kind of dvd copyright protection schemes and save the DVD to computer in LG video formats.

Most of all, it will not break the video into pieces, it will join all DVD titles and chapters and make them as one standalone video file.

You can download it here:

I have been told that you make a vcr - dvd machine that will convert vhs videos to dvd , if this is true pls advise model number and approximate price

There are DVD/VHS combo units that allow you to record VHS tapes onto DVDs. The price of these units range from about $150 up to $300+ depending on the quality of the brand you want. I have seen them on sale for less than $150, but you would need to look around for the sales. There is a problem with these units, however. Most newer VHS movies (and DVDs) are encoded for copyright protection and cannot be copied - unless you want to purchase a Descrambler. A Descrambler allows you to bypass the copyright codes and are to be used soley for the purpose of copying purchased movies. There are strict copyright laws as you have seen during the intro of VHS/DVD movies. If you intend to use the unit for copying things like TV shows, movies on cable, or home movies, then this would be a worthwhile purchase. I have just a standard Toshiba DVD burner and believe me, it gets a lot of use, mostly for TV shows on prime time TV. I work second shift and would miss out if I didn't have it. I can guarantee that you will get your moneys worth out of it. You can find them pretty much anywhere that sells electronics. As far as the Descrambler, I'm not sure they are carried in your local department store. The only ones that I have seen have been in magazine advertisements and once on The Home Shopping Network (HSN) and the price on there was around $100 - this was about 2 years ago. I hope that I answered your questions. Please take a few seconds to rate how helpful this post was for you. Thanks and good luck. billyho1977@FixYa

CAN NOT RECORD COPYRIGHT VHS TAPES OR DVDS TO MY DVD BURNER.A LOCK COMES ON THE DVD PLAYER

This is the protection for the source material. Commercialy distributed media is not supposed to be copied. This is under copyright law.

What you can do to be legal, is to buy a second copy.

VCR copyright

On the side that faces out of the tape that sticks out of the vcr there should be a square indent. This makes the tape read only and tells the player that it is copyrighted. If you were to cover it with a piece of tape it should work. Just make sure the tape is on really good so that it doesn't fall off into your machine. I'm assuming they are your personal family videos that you accidentally broke the tab off of and not actual hollywood videos that you would get into trouble for copying.
