Question about Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium Edition for PC

1 Answer

My windows vista keeps switching users at random times.

My computer keeps switching users at random times. Its a very weird problem and i think it has something to do with my partitioned hard drive. Because i thought i erased my old user profile when i thought it had a virus, i rebooted from the start and started downloading all my programs, only to find out when i turned on my computer acouple days later, that it was back to the old username i thought i had erased.

It now switches at odd times maybe once every month and it is VERY frustrating, especially with my music files.

A virus can do that if it had managed to aquire your logon and password. If you are sure you got rid of or rulled out a virus you can have a program that is allowed to run as a differant user.

To stop this recreate your old account name but use a different password. The program that is doing this virus or valid will then error out when it next tries to log on and this will now allow you to identify which or what it is. Then you will be able to change it or dlete/uninstall it if needed.

Because this is random you will have to identify the guilty party first. Otherwise you can end up getting rid of the wrong. program.

How to disable UAC 0a43393.jpg

Are you annoyed by these notification every time you open installer and system applications?
That is the one called UAC in Vista, Windows Server 2008 and Windows 7.

What is UAC?

-User Account Control (UAC) is a technology and security infrastructure introduced with Microsoft's Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008 operating system. It aims to improve the security of Microsoft Windows by limiting application software to standard user privileges until an administrator authorizes an increase etc etc etc. Who the heck wants the definition? ^^

The simplest way to define this one is
- The Annoying prompt on Windows Vista / Windows 7 that makes your PC slow.
It is also an idiot proof application that will give you just a minimal security.

How to disable it?
1. Go to Control Panel
2. Switch to Classic View / Small Icons View (inWindows 7)
3. Click User Accounts
4. Click Change User Account Settings
5.a (Vista) Unchecked the box then
5.b (Windows 7) Scroll the Scroll bar to never
6. Click OK/Next
7. Restart your computer.
After restart, you will the difference of the speed of your computer.

Tip

Each Time Window ask for Permission: UAC Permission (User Account Control)

Applicable for all Window Vista

Any Edition

32-bit & 64-bit

General Information: UAC in windows vista a new security feature. But generally this has nothing to do with security. It is only requesting you if you want to allow any changes or not.

Changes such as Installation or removal of program, etc.

Main Effect: Window activities delays, Screen become flickering and Flashing.

It is advisable to keep this feature off as you will have to keep on unblocking every time. It is absolutely safe to turn it off.

How to Turn it Off?

Please go to the Control Panel. Click on User Accounts (Select the Classic view, if not selected)

Then please 'Turn User Account Control on or off'
(You may need to press Continue)

Please then uncheck

'Use Account Control (UAC) to Help Protect your Computer'

This is only required to stop the delay and flickering of screen.
