I have a JVC TH-R1 Home cinema sytem and each time I try to load a disc, The message "Disc Error" or "No Disc" is displayed. how can I fix this and get spares for it.
The unit is superb other than this and I would rather try and fix than replace if possible.

- Thanks GenoI have already tried cleaning with a disc and the movement of the laser and spinning of the disc have been verified.
any other suggestions?

Assuming you've tried regular nonrecorded DVD discs, there are many things that can cause this:
Dirty or defective laser. (try a cleaning disc).
Disc not spinning.
Laser not moving on slide rail.
I would at least try cleaning the laser lens before giving up.
