Freeze happens randomly, not just at scene changes and despite frequently using a lens cleaning disc.

DVD images freeze at certain points or playback becomes choppy

sounds like you will need to clean laser, there are cleaners you can buy out of walmart for this. Don't know if they work well, I take mine apart and use soft cloth and alcohol then letting dry, works fine for me.

When i put my dvd in it will play for a few min than it will freeze

I'd almost bet it's time for a new dvd player! often a worn laser unit will freeze first on dvds that are burnt then will skip and freeze on scratched originals then (just like mine) will fail on the goos ones. Time for a new one unless you are will to pay more to get the laser unit replaced!
Happy hunting! :)

Hi i was after a no region code for a dvd player!!!

To unlock the DVD code its defends upon what region you belongs or from were you bought the DVD unit. Just click this site to hack the region code ; http://www.videohelp.com/dvdhacks

To keep it simple, this means that DVD players and DVDs are labeled for operation on within a specific geographical region in the world. For example, the U.S. is in region 1. This means that all DVD players sold in the U.S. are made to region 1 specifications. As a result, region 1 players can only play region 1 discs. That's right, the DVDs themselves are encoded for a specific region. On the back of each DVD package, you will a find a region number (1 thru 6).
The geographical regions are as follows:
REGION 1 -- USA, Canada
REGION 2 -- Japan, Europe, South Africa, Middle East, Greenland
REGION 3 -- S.Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Parts of South East Asia
REGION 4 -- Australia, New Zealand, Latin America (including Mexico)
REGION 5 -- Eastern Europe, Russia, India, Africa
REGION 6 -- China
REGION 7 -- Reserved for Unspecified Special Use
REGION 8 -- Reserved for Cruise Ships, Airlines, etc...
REGION 0 or REGION ALL -- Discs are uncoded and can be played Worldwide, however, PAL discs must be played in a PAL-compatible unit and NTSC discs must be played in an NTSC-compatible unit.

The end result is that DVDs encoded for regions other than Region 1 cannot be played on a region 1 DVD player, also, players marketed for other regions cannot play region 1-stamped DVDs

Hope it may help you;

DVD'S hang up

I have a similar problem.  After a seemingly random length of time, the counter on the display freezes and I cannot pause, stop or eject the DVD.  I can change volume, change function, etc but nothing useful.  The only way I can get the disc out it to turn the whole thing off and then back on.  Sometimes even this doesn't work first time...

I went to a Sony shop and they said I could have it looked at, but they charge £45 just to have a look!  Not sure it's worth it as I only paid a little over £200 for it.

I dont think its connected. anyway, make sure DVD is clean and unscratched. If it wont help and these are commercial DVDs, then there is probably something wrong with them. If they are home made DVDs, then it may be that your player doesn't handle them well and you can try to burn it a other dvd format... look in you r manual to find out which format are compatible.. Good luck.
