Picture Transfer issues

I had filled up my memory card on vacation and transferred the pics to a CD, then kept snapping. It looks to me that the most recent pics are on the internal memory (?) and I would like to get back to taking photos on the memory card, how do I do this?

Delete the pics off your memory card.

Transferring them to a CD is only copying them, not deleting them off the card, so at this stage, the card is still full.

If you have a card reader, insert the card and format it.

This will delete everything on the card, making it ready for use again.

If not, follow the directctions for your camera to delete/re-format a card in the camera.

Hope this helps,

The pictures are in the internal memory? If so you need to purchase a memory card for that camera and transfer the internal memory pictures to the memory card and then you will be able to download them to the computer. Your camera takes a SD or a SDHC memory card make sure it's unlocked and formatted to the camera the instructions for formatting are in your manual
Here is a diagram to makes sure the switch on the SD card is in the unlock position

If your camera uses a memory card, just get a card reader and transfer your pics to a folder you create on your desktop.

Transferring pics

There exists a good, if not better alternative way to download your photos. Please don't take the following as a sales pitch as it's not, but please see the following blog article, as it describes the use of an inexpensive card reader as a much easier, faster, and less error prone way to download your photos. In fact there are several important reasons discussed in the article for using a card reader vice downloading from the camera. USB Card readers are also very inexpensive these day, with cost virtually not an issue:

Error message: card cover open..yeah right

Hmmm, I'm thinkin' if there's no memory card in camera, there are NO memories, aka formerly known as photos. Unless there is some sort of an internal memory, but me thinks not. As for error message, might be because....card fell out while an image was being captured.
