You need a separate card. I had this problem last week. My card cost $74 and everything works great.

I am using VA1903wm LCD monitor from Viewsonic. It worked well at its non standard resolution of 1440*900 when used with Windows Vista. i had to upgrade to Windows 7 Enterprise edition and this resolution...

Update your graphics card drivers to the newest ones available. That is typically caused by having the default windows driver for your graphics card. If it is a Nvidia gpu get the drivers from them, itf its an ATI/AMD get them from AMD Game. If it is neither of those Intel does some graphic cards, if its not an Intel one go to the computer manufacturers website and find your model to get drivers for it.

check the nature resolution of this LCD. It is 1400 x 1050 resolution.
You need the LCD driver from viewsonic web site. Go download and install.
Make sure your graphics card driver is latest one so can auto detect the LCD res. as well.
Good day.

Goes through normal startup, but get a ''digital no signal'' box before login screen appears

Seems that you have set the resolution on your graphics card to a setting higher than the maximum resolution supported by your monitor.
Try to boot into Safe Mode & lower the resolution of your graphics card. If not possible, go to Device Manager & remove the graphics card from it, then reboot your computer. This will reset the resolution.
You can then re-install your graphics card drivers & get it to work properly.

My viewsonic VA1701wb monitor having streching problem for images

The native resolution for that LCD is 1440x900. If you do not see that resolution in your display properties you can try to update the video driver. If it is still not displayed as an option you may need a newer graphics card. Many newer low end card support this widescreen resolution, so if you need to replace the card you will not need to spend a lot of money.

I just bought a 28 inch viewsonic screen and the only resolution it lets me see my entire desktop is 1088x612. Otherwise it cuts off all four sides and I can't see the start menu... please help!

You didn't list the graphics card you are using, but from your description of the problem, the monitor has a higher resolution than the graphics card can support (usually 1440 x 900, some are higher resolution)

Generally, the solution if to upgrade the graphics card, if the graphics in your system isn't easily upgradable, then you may need to upgrade to a system with adequate graphics

Have you tried updating your graphics card? Go to ATI's website and try updating your video card and hopefully that solves your problem. Go to amd.com and go to ATI tab to update your driver. I forgot ATI is under AMD's umbrella

Realheadache, Unusual problem, it could be the resolution and refresh rate setting your PCs video card is currently set at. I don?t know if this will fix your problem but its worth a try: - Now go to your PC with the old monitor connected, right click anywhere on the desktop. - Left click Properties from the box that appears. - When the Display Properties box appears click on the Settings tab. - Make note of the screen resolution. - Change the screen resolution to 1024 x 768. - Click on the Advanced button in the lower right hand corner. - In the next box that appears click on the Monitor tab. - In the Monitor settings section of this page record the value of the Screen refresh rate. Then change it to 60 Hertz. - Close this and the Display Properties box by click on the OK button. - Now try connecting your new monitor. Let us know if this helps and as always please don?t forget to rate this posting.
