Recorded DVD won't play on computer or other players

DVDs recorded on my LG DR198H DVD recorder will not play on my computer or friend's DVD player.
Is it the DVD formatting ? What should it read ?

Thanks

Yes it might be the format of the recorded dvd, check in which format it is and you can then download the codecs for your PC movie player via google. If you can give me the format I can try and find you a link to the codecs you need if you like.

Goodluck^^

I WAS JUST TRYING TO GET A MANUAL FOR AN LG DVD DR198H RECORDER

I located an owners manual for an LG DVD recorder for a model DR1F9H here is the link for the free download. I have been comparing the DR1F9H and the DR198H and they appear to be the same model or very similar. Hopefully this will allow you to do what you need.

if that one doesn't work, here's another one.

I 'Finalized' the DVD but cannot play on another player

Does the machine record on to + or - DVDR?
If it does both try each type. Also try high quality discs, some of the cheaper types won't work. Try it on different speeds too.

Won't play recorded DVD's - states check disc

Depending on your player model, a few things could be going on:
1. The DVD you are recording to is incompatible with your Go Video player. Check your manual for DVD playback compatibility (DVD+R, DVD-R, DVDRW)
2. Your Go Video player has a laser alignment problem. If it plays other DVDs, yours is most likely the first solution.

Playing recorded DVDs on PC or other DVD player

Hi

This is problem exactly with finalizing for finalizing after disk burning You need to press stop button and finalising menu will appear in your display at that time you need to press Record button top finalize it will take a little time for finalizing then your DVD will play fine in all DVD players
