Its not in the setting...there's a trouble inside the tv.
Try first to reprogram the channels..if nothing happened...Check tuner section inside your tv...if you're not technical person, don't try to open the back cover of your TV..Bring it to your nearest Electronic Service Center.

Hope this will help you.

I cant get a picture on my portable dvd only sound

see the remedies and fix it;
  1. Make sure all power cords are connected.or batteries
  2. Try pressing the enter/play key.
  3. Make sure the DVD is turned on and the input is set properly.
  4. Make sure the DVD source is set properly on the DVD (This is probably done on the screen; Check your DVD manual).
  5. see the block and test

I have no sound through my surround sound when playing ps3

The optical audio out from the TV only works for the TV's tuner, probably. Hook-up optical from Cable/SAT and from PS3 boxes to DVD/Receiver.

My aspire DVD drive will not work

I see ..if it reads the cd and dvd-s it is probably good and all you have to do is to reinstall the program that u use to burn disks ..but about the second issue with the sound ..try to reinstall the sound driver ..maybe its corrupt ..also look at the settings in the sound driver to see if it isn't maybe locked on left from balance ..but if you cant figure just reinstall the sound driver too ...
By the way if you was using vista program to burn dvd an cd ...just reinstall the whole machine ..it might just fix all the problems..I suspect that its bug-ed

Cant hear my cable channels through my surround sound...

Hello, i just saw your post.. i know this reply is so late, and you might have probably found a solution. But i will still give you some guides to help you figure this out.

(1) First and foremost, make sure your connections are set up properly (exactly as in the manual). most HDTV'S require a DIGITAL OPTICAL CABLE to be connected from TV to receiver. Read the manual on your TV and see the required wires for external audio

(2) go to your TV audio settings. Get to the speaker option, and turn it off ( this assumes your expensive TV is an HDTV). By turning it off, you signify that you want the sound option to come only from the speakers.

Hope it helps

You TV probably has a virtual surround sound setting in the menu to make movies sound like they are 3D, BUT when listening to a Football game, you can only hear the crowd. This was what happened to my parents big screen Toshiba tv.

No sound

Look through the menus on the TV. There is probably a setting that allows you to turn them off and on.

Hope this helps, and please rate my advice, good OR bad.

Good luck!
