Retried afetr 12 hours off. No different. Will keep you updated. I have heard the 8 flashes might mean needs the SS board replacing. Anyone have the fault codes for this TH42PX7A Viera?

    Thanks.

Hi,

Other than suggesting a full hard reset (unplug from the mains for a couple of hours or overnight), I wouldn't suggest doing anything with it otherwise the warranty may be void.

If your concern has not been corrected after completion of the above procedure, perhaps your best bet would be to seek the services of their authorized service personnel.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up, if you would waive the warranty and try a DIY or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

    Hi again hegemony,

    With the indulgence of IB4G2008....

Search on the net disclosed that 8 blinks indicates fault in Driver SOS 3 SS Board (SS energy recovery circuit).

    Other errors are:
1 blink STV 5v sense DG Board
    2 blinks 15v SOS D Board
    3 blinks 3.3v SOS D Board
4 blinks Power SOS P Board
    5 blinks 5v SOS D Board
6 blinks Driver SOS 1 SU / SD / SC Boards (SC energy recovery circuit)
7 blinks Driver SOS 2 SU / SD / SS Boards (SC floating voltage area)
    9 blinks Panel Config. SOS
10 blinks Sub 5v SOS / Main 3v SOS DG Board DTV 9v SOS / Tuner Power SOS
11 blinks Fan SOS PB Board
12 blinks Sound SOS H Board
13 blinks Communication error DG Board with IC8001 (Pesks Lite 2)

Though I must say that common problems with your model would be clicking sound and/or delay in video display (which according to some service personnel are normal). Your particular problem indicates a hardware fault and for all intents and purposes better be left to authorized service professionals.

Should you venture a DIY, please be reminded of safety precautions when dealing with electrical powered devices. It would also require that you be familiar with electronic components and circuitry, use of a DVM, a soldering iron and access to a service manual or at the very least a schematic diagram with voltage readings.

    Cheers.

I have panasonic hdtv pt-59cl14 wont turn on when push power button the lamp light blinks red then the power button flashes yellow/orange 8 times then repeats . Any suggestions

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices.

My Panasonic PT-60Dl54J tv shut itself off and the power button is now flashing red 6 times. What has happened, how do I fix it?

This is straight from the service manual (I'm not sure what the problem is but it sounds serious):

8.2. Power LED Flashing timing table
When an abnormality has occurred, the protection circuit operate and cuts the power supply. At this time, the defective line can be
identified by the number of flashes (red) of the power led indication at the front of the unit.
NUMBER OF FLASHES CIRCUIT MICRO PIN
1 LOAD SHORTAGE 92
2 OVER VOLAGE 93
3 FAN SOS 94
4 MAIN 3.3V 88
5 LAMP DISABLE 61
6 GC3FM-IIC IIC
7 GC3FS-IIC IIC
8 GC3I-IIC IIC
9 COLOR WHEEL STOP 110

No sound or picture, 2004 pt50dl54j

remove back panel. blow out all the dust from all the components except the fan on the right.
Vacuum out all the dust.
Have you replaced the lamp? that would help too.
There are 2 small red lamp. One indicates HEAT problem. The other one is the LAMP indicator.

Need list of codes for panasonic plasm tv

You can find the remote control codes for difrent brands of devices from
http://www.hifi-remote.com/ofa/codes-tv.shtml#tv

If none of the codes work then we have two other solutions:

1. Searching For Your Code

If you have tried all of the set-up codes for your brand of equipment ,or your brand is not listed, and you are still not able to get the unit to respond, try the following procedure to search for your code.
If you don't find a code that works, the remote will flash four times when you reach the end of all the codes for this device type.
  1. PRESS the button for the device you want to program, (TV, VCR, CABLE, etc.), then RELEASE.
  2. PRESS and HOLD the SETUP button until the red LED flashes twice, then RELEASE.
  3. ENTER 9-9-1 (two blinks on the remote)
  4. ALTERNATE slowly between the POWER key and the DEVICE (TV, VCR, CABLE, etc.) button until your device turns off. (On VCR, LD, and CD players use PLAY instead of POWER)
Make sure that the remote is pointed at your device during the search, You may have to press this sequences of buttons up to 100 times to search the entire library of codes.
  5. When your device turns OFF, PRESS the SETUP button and RELEASE it to lock in the code for your device.

2. Learn the buttons from the original

Line up your original remote and the head-to-head before completing the following steps.
  1. PRESS and HOLD the SETUP button until the red LED flashes twice.
  2. PRESS 9 - 7 - 5, the red LED will flash twice.
  3. PRESS the DEVICE key where you wish to learn the function. The next 3 steps must be completed within 10 seconds.
  4. PRESS the button that will receive the learned function, the LED will flash radidly.
  5. PRESS the button on the original remote to be learned.

Now you can repeat steps 3 through 5 to learn other functions onto other keys or press and hold SETUP until the Cinema's red light flashes twice to lock in your new feature. (If the red light does not blink twice, stop and repeat steps through 6).
To test the new feature, press and release the device key in which the new feature was learned followed by the key on which the feature was learned

More help for programing your remote can be found here: http://www.hifi-remote.com/manuals/ofa-l.shtml?URC-7800#device

If you find that the solution/answer I provided led you to, or resulted in a fix, please take a moment to close the ticket with a FixYa! rating. I would be very grateful for your show of appreciation.
