My washing machine wont stop filling up with

My washing machine isnt working properly. when i fill it up with water, it overflows and will not stop filling. Additionally, my knob doesn't turn any so it's like its not moving forward in the cycle. if i twist the dial manually it will just drain the water out and then refill again pretty much.

Well the part that tells the water to stop running in is the pressure switch if the water valve is working properly so disconnect the power and if the water continues to run in it is the water valve just replace it

Also check the tubing that connects from the wash tub to the load level control switch located under the top panel. I had the same problem and found that the hose had come off of the plastic nipple at the switch. This hose is pressurized when the tub is being filled and closes the water fill valve when the desired load level is reached (small, medium, large, etc..). I added a small hose clamp to keep it in place, It probably came off on a "out of balance" cycle with the vibration? If you find that it's still in place, check the line for cracks, splits etc.. from dry rotting allowing air to escape. If air escapes the pressure will never build therefore thinking it never reaches the desired level with never cutting the water valve off.

check your water inlet valve. Check it for continuity with a multi meter it should show Ohms or a closed circuit. To test it when water is overflowing unplug the unit and see if it still overflows or continues to fill. no fill If it stops when unplugged. Then it is not a water inlet problem but an electrical signal problem going to ur water inlet valve. Possibly from the panel or board.

Washer is overflowing

The water input on washers is controlled by the timer which actuates the solenoid valves for both hot and cold water, telling them when to fill and when to close. I would run the machine thru a fill cycle with the washer back off, and with a voltmeter, observe if the voltage ever cuts off as the timer runs. I Another variable is the water level control. So also determine if that is working since if it failed to open the 'fill' circuit at the proper volume, you might have this overflow problem.

Myn washer always overflowes as it filling it wont

This is usually the pressure switch. Also you could check the water inlet valve if water is still flowing in the machine after it stops. There are free videos on testing these components at www.appliancehelponline.com/servicemanual.html
You can also punch in your model # for diagrams

Fills up with water and wont stop

if it still fills , with power off, the valve is letting by water and has become faulty,if water stops with power off, check for smudged powder at the lower part of the pressure switch pipe giving a false read to pressure switch, other than that the pressure switch has become faulty, look at the pressure switch pipe first for blockage, hope this helps

GE SpaceMaker washing machine does not stop filling.

try replacing your water selenoid coming in. remember it isnt a mechanical timer it is a computerized timer, so if the selenoid isnt the problem, it might be the computerized timer. computers are very finicky, pain in the a- -!

My Roper top loading washing won't stop filling.

It's not necessarily the angle of your drain hose. When it drains as you fill it, it's called a siphon condition. Pull the excess hose out of the stand pipe (drain). Only about 6" should remain inside the pipe. Tie it down with a plastic tie to one of your fill hoses to prevent water pressure from pushing it back out. This should solve your problem.
