Could be
1. Bad adapter-- see best buy, $60-$90
2. bad battery--$90-$150----TAKE OUT AND RE-SEAT IT FIRMLY
3. The plug in the notebook that takes the round adapter end has cracked the solder that attaches it to the motherboard. $60-$120

Really, I hope it is none of these. May be the battery was un seated!
Your local shop or best buy would be able to test each to see which one it was
Good luck,
James.

GOOD DAY, the AC adapter model EXA0801XA DON`T CHARGE MY NOTEBOOK ASUS. ANY TIMES WHEN THE AC ADAPTER IS PLUG, TURN ON THE LIGHT BLUE, BUT AFTER 2 SECONDS (APROX) THE LIGHT OFF AND NEVER CHARGE MY...

Here are some steps you could take to try and solve the problem
  • Make sure all parts of the adapter are plugged tightly together.
  • Try plugging the adapter into a different wall socket.
  • Try the adapter with another computer to make sure that your laptop is not the actual problem.
If the adapter continues to fail after all previous steps are taken you may just need to buy a new adapter. Not to worry though as brand new adapters can be found for next to nothing on websites like Amazon.com or Ebay.com

I left my laptop unuse 4 about 6mont after d charger got burnt sinc then i v been tried som diferent charger but couldnt charge again.

Sorry to hear about your laptop. It sounds like the battery may need to be replaced. Older laptop batteries will loose the ability to hold a charge as time goes on.

Here are some things to try:
1) Remove the battery from the notebook and try booting up with just the power adapter plugged into the notebook. If the notebook boots then the power adapter is working fine. If the notebook does not boot then the power adapter is no good and needs replaced.

2) With the battery in the notebook, and the notebook off, leave the power adapter plugged into the notebook for a few hours or over night and see if the battery charges.

LIGHT COMES ON AC ADAPTER BUT GOES OFF WHEN PLUGGED INTO NOTEBOOK

This is possibly an internal power Supply fault. take the battery out, plug in the adapter, IF the unit works now, you have A: A battery problem, or B: a charging circuit problem. If the unit still fails to work, the power supply in the PC has faulted. You need to get a "Quote: for a repair.

Travelmate only powers up with battery inserted. But AC still charges battery. Orange light goes on and of

Sorry to tell you this but you may have a problem with the charging system. That will require you to return it to Acer or an Acer service center. You can also try this. I got this from Acers' travelmate support website:

If the notebook does not power on:

Make sure the ac adapter is correctly plugged into the notebook and into the power cord.

If everything is plugged in correctly and it still will not power on, follow these steps to complete a ‘power reset' of the notebook.
  1. Unplug the ac adapter. Keep ac adapter unplugged.
  2. Remove the battery and keep the battery unplugged.
  3. Hold the power button down for 15-20 seconds. (Nothing will appear on the display and none of the lights will light up.)
  4. Release the power button and plug in the ac adapter ONLY. (Please note that a power indicator light should be lit on the ac adapter when it is plugged in).
  5. Normally power on the notebook.
  6. If the unit does not power on, remove the ac adapter and insert the battery into the system.
  7. Plug the ac adapter back into the system, the battery charging indicator light will light up.
If the battery charging indicator light does not light up, the ac adapter may not be providing proper power to the unit, and may need to be replaced.
You can aslo google your specific model of Travelmate to see if others are having this issue.

I HAVE A ASPIRE 5520 IT WONT START THE FAN STARTS AND THE DVD BUT IT JUST KEEPS ON LOPPING

I had the same problem but what you can do is...

  8. If its not the batery or AC adapter you might have to send it to Texas, just go to www.Acer.com

Power plug socket on notebook has failed.

You will have to have a new d/c jack installed on the motherboard. Not a big job, but you might want to have a techie friend do it for you, as it will require some soldering.

Battery stopped charging

Your adapter could be faulty, test it with a multimeter, the voltage should be slightly higher than the voltage printed on the label on the adapter.
If the power adapter is OK then the power connector on the laptop could be faulty, plug the connector into the laptop and wriggle the connector to see if the power LED light on the laptop flicks on and off. This indicates a faulty connector and can be repaired.

To check if the laptop is OK, borrow a charged battery or an adapter, connect it to your laptop and see if it boots up.

Travelmate 2300 won't power on

The problem could be your bezel.  Remove the 3 screws from the hinges from the rear and you will be able to remove the black strip above the keyboard (after removing the screws, make sure laptop is layed wide open)  once removed, press the button on the motherboard under where the power button is.  If the unit still does not power up, then your motherboard is bad and needs to be replaced.  If it does power up, you need to replace the bezel.
