Your heating element needs to be replaced, or the 240 breaker in your breaker box has tripped. I was a maytag technician for several years...So, check your breaker box for any tripped breakers or the heating element in the dryer needs to be replaced, or the t.stat for the element has blown.

Maytag Neptune Dryer Not Drying Well, Leaves Brown Marks on Clothing. Seems like there may be multiple problems. Suggestions?

Sounds to me like an air-flow problem. Poor air-flow means dryer gets hot and scorches clothes but there is nowhere for the wet air to go, so it doesn't dry well. Check for lint-clogged ducting from the back of the dryer to the outside (or at least check both ends of the duct). Also check for a collapsed or clogged flexible tube that goes from the dryer to the duct work.
An over-heated dryer could also have warped the (usually) plastic lint filter.

I have a Kenmore 500 series dryer, model number 110.79522800 that will note completely dry clothes. It seems like it doesn't run long enough, heat high enough or a combination of both. What can I do to...

Your Sensor that senses the clothes are wet or dry is shorted out. The dryer works likes this so the dryer heaters dont stay on while the clothes are dry. When the sensor senses the clothes are damp or wet, the heater stays on, when they start drying the sensor senses it and starts to turn down the heaters

My dryer does not dry clothes

i would start by checking the thermal fuse and then the heating element itself.

NO HEAT WHEN CLOTHES ARE ADDED

Check to see if vent hose is not restricted. If it goes up inside wall, it could have lint clogging it. Most dryers regulate heat with air flow. Wet clothes can restrict flow even more if vent is clogged or pinched. Air flow is crucial to heat cycle. If the vent is resrticted, heat will rise quickly, but not cool down fast enough to allow heat thermostat to cool down and turn on heating element again. It may seem hot inside dryer but if no air flow it will increase dry time or not dry them at all before timer shuts off. If vent goes up inside wall, buy a small chimney brush and try cleaning out vent from attic if you can.

Our Kenmore 80 series gas dryer won't dry clothes. The barrel turns, and the heating element appears to be working, but when the buzzer sounds on the auto dry, the clothes are still very wet. Have...

Have you checked the entire run of the exhaust vent ducting? Cleaning the lint trap is not nearly enough to keep a dryer running efficiently.

A simple test you can try is to remove the exhaust vent hose from the back of the dryer and attempt to dry a load as you normally would. With the hose removed and the dryer running, the air leaving the exhaust of the dryer should be forceful and warm (about 140 degrees). If the air flow is weak or non-existent, you have a clog INTERNAL to the dryer. You will have to inspect the air blower fan housing and ducting inside the dryer to ensure the blower fan is not obstructed in any way. If the air flow is normal and the clothes dry like they should, you have a clog somewhere in the DUCTING from the point where it leaves the dryer to where it exits your home. You will need to inspect the exhaust ventilation for any clogs or kinks.

If you can see the heating element glowing, you probably don't have a problem with the heating circuitry. If you haven't checked the dryer ventilation recently, now might be a good time to do so. Leaving a dryer in a clogged, or poorly ventilated condition can cause the dryer heating circuits to over heat to the point of failure. In addition, this can also create a fire hazard.

If you have any questions, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

Does not heat

"Steam drying will get how but the air that comes later to actually dry is cold so the clothes never dry"

I am assuming "how" means hot in this sentence, if so, I think I can help! There is no "steam drying" phase for your dryer so what is probably happening is; the wet clothes are being heated properly [as a result causing steam] however if this steam does not escape frum the dryer it will simply condense back onto the clothing [leaving them moist/wet].
Check your flexible tube from the dryer and the vent on the outside of your home to make sure they are unobstructed. Hope this helps!
