You will need to see if you can find Vista drivers for the two devices. If you are not sure where to look for the drivers you can download the Unknown Devices program which will give you specific chipset information that will allow you to search the internet for the drivers.

SOURCE: How to replace my DVD drive?
well if you are going to buy one, i would go to www.newegg.com and see what they have. I am also assuming that you are comfortable opening your computer. When you get a new DVD drive open up your computer and look how the old one is connected(i would do that before you buy a new drive too) and if your connects the way i think it does it should have a ribbon (bunch of wires attached together in a line) that have a rectangular thing at the end that connects to the back of your drive and also it will have another set of wires that are multicolored that come from your power thing it will have 4 wires that connect to the back of the DVD drive, make sure both the ribbon and the power cables connect correctly to your new DVD drive. if they do great, you now would only have to take out the old drive and put in the old one(they usually attach to the computer case via screws on the side of the drive) once the old is out and the new is in you just plug in the cables(ribbon and power) and it should work.If the cables arent the same see if you can return it for one that would fit correctly. If you have any questions about my explanation ask (i am new to this and not all that great at giving organized instructions)

if your PC have s-video out you can connect your PC
use s-video to RCA cable (all tv have this ports red, white and yellow) u need is cable for yellow (video) sound(connect y cable (.35mm jack to RCA)
VGA to Progressive scan cable (if your TV has this connection)
after connecting the cable configure your setting (depends on video card (nvidia or ati)because they have different application tools)
if you cant find this cable..you can create your own..search google: svideo to rca pinouts
