  1. Unscrew it anti-clockwise. It can be quite tough to turn. It will pour water all over the floor, so have towels ready. Another one of GE's brilliant ideas.

First, make sure that the washing machine is not too close to the wall behind it. This could crimp the drain hose & force water out at the connection behind the machine. This could also crack/split the washer machine's port (to which the drain hose attaches). Second, check the hose clamp for a secure hold at the washer machine's port, & check the drain hose for leaks & for insertion in the drain tube at the wall.

My whirlpool duet will not drain or spin

Hi
The drain line is probably clogged. Maybe that a sock or other piece of clothing get between the clothes tub and the outer tub that holds the water. In this case it may then get into the drain hose that's attached to the pump.Remove the hoses from the pump and pull the item out. In case it clean there, check the outer tub port- open the washer's main access panel and remove the large-diameter rubber hose that connects the pump to the bottom of the outer tub. Then, try to remove the clothing through the port.
Thanks for contacting fixya.com

My washer stopped draing the water

The pump may have stopped running, or a hose is pinched or blocked. Check the hose port at the outer tub bottom to see if a stray sock or something is blocking water drain.
