Question about Dell Dimension E521 PC Desktop

1 Answer

Which is better? A Demension e521 or an Inspirion 530? Dell recently had to send me a new computer because of all the issues I was having with my other one, but I want to make sure that it is as good or better than the one I was having trouble with. Even though I was having trouble with it, it still cost quite a bit of money, so I want to make sure Im not getting swindled.

The 530 is a decent PC. If your a gamer, you might want to consider a good video card to add-on.

My dell demension E521 is giving me a "alert system battery low" message. Any suggestions?

Check the batteries voltage and check to see if the battery is being supplied charge voltage when the computer is off. If both these are good then your low battery message is in error. No charge voltage would mean faulty charger and low battery voltage would mean faulty battery.

I have a Dell Inspirion 530, dual core quad processor. It's about 3 years old. I just recently started occasionally getting blue screen error. When I ran the memory test off of the bootable partion, I...

It sounds like you are having memory issues with your computer. The best thing you can do is just replace the memory the computer sounds just fine you just need new memory. If you go to this link http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820134117&cm_re=DDR2-800-_-20-134-117-_-Product on newegg.com. Order these sticks of memory you would be fine. All you need to do is just open up the dell case. Remove the old memory sticks from the main motherboard. Then install the new sticks and you will be able to reboot your system and should run just fine.

It could be many things honestly. A couple possibilities could be; you put in too much RAM/not the correction offset of RAM; CPU issues; System fan issues (though some computers will let you run it anyways pressing F2); Power supply issues; or something errored on the motherboard. Those are just a few off the top of my head. If you recently installed RAM, try putting things back the way they were previously and look online for your max RAM support. If not, look on the back of your power supply and you should see a brightly lit green LED. If it is dim, pulsing, or off...you will need a new powersupply. If light is bright and on, try opening your case and making sure all of the cables from the power supply are firmly in place on your motherboard. If after all of that and your computer is still having issues, you might need to replace your Motherboard/CPU, or both. Hope this helps. :D
