Question about Garden

I have a sears 1 hp 4 gal compressor. (Mod) 919.152145 I can hear hissing under the plastic housing, like an air leak. I cannot see how the plastic housing comes off so I can check for a leak.

Top slid off just like you indicated. Thanks... But how do you get the two plastic halves of the cover apart to get inside?

There are screws that hold the plastic case together. If you go to the link below on page 22 shows you how it comes apart. Please give it time to load large file.

Turn it over ... you will find two screws that lock the top into the slide that holds it. Remove the screws, slip the top to the side and fix your leak.

Wont build pressure past 60 psi

If you have oil-less type of compressor you may be leaking pressure past cylinder/piston ring or just air leak. Easy to check. Spray soapy water on all connections, first with pressure in tank and motor shut off, then once again with motor running/pumping. Repair as needed. If no leaks remove cover to motor and move piston to top of cylinder and examine condition. If you see scratches neer top of cylinder, then pressure is leaking past vinyl ring. If cylinder looks shiny and smooth and piston vinyl seal looks intact, suspect problem with reed valves or head gaskets. Parts are avilable at sears parts on the web. Good holidays expensive.

I have an H1506FWH Husky 6 gal 1.5 hp compressor that won't build air pressure. While running I noticed a change in the sound but it kept running. However, I no longer had much pressure. Now I can't get...

Locate the piston housing and remove the outer plate 4 screws
then tap on the next plate and when you remove it ( its the reed plate) you will most likely see a hole in one or more of the reeds
I am not technical but I have the same peoblem and I am trying to replace the reed plate on mine when I saw this. Good luck

A/C will only pump 30-40 lbs, but keeps running.

Maybe your unloader valve is stuck or damaged. This is found in the switch assembly and if it is faulty you should be able to hear a constant hissing noise from the switch .
